Funny enough someone on gaf was suggesting this earlier this week ---> http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
Hope it's not true for early PS4 gamers.
And this is one of the reasons why we are not ready for an all digital age on console. Storage space & internet speeds are not there yet.
Average of 9 AAA DD games and you're out of space. Damn....
Physical it is next-gen.
This is the real use of kinect not for gaming. IMO the more MS shift away from trying to sell the kinect as an alternative controller the better it will be received with great features like these. As someone who doesn't like kinect too much things like this will slowly convince me :)
Great job MS with snap.
The source of the info doesn't help neither does the site from which this comes from.
Yh they could but lets face the facts here. MS have an established long running cloud infrastructure Vs Sony who don't and had to buy Gaikai & are teaming up with rackspace for their cloud solutions so far.
Sony will never be able to match MS anytime soon or go toe to toe on this because cloud is not a primary part of their business like it is for MS. Not bashing Sony here this is just how things are.
Hmmm.... Sony is a hardware company and looking at the fail rate of the ps3 I don't see why there's much of a concern.
Also based on the fcc report it runs between 5-35°C vs PS3's 45-55°C

Yh so did Gears 3 until the moved it to only DLC maps and it's not for all matches this is for all matches & will last longer :)
Does this mean they changed their stance from offering it at heavily discounted price as hinted by the re-spawn devs? If true then this is indeed huge as a former MP heavy player especially in Gears this will be a Godsend. OMG a next-gen Gears with dedicated servers oh may that will be beautiful.
I hope Sony can get some servers in time as they don't have the portfolio of servers MS have at their disposal. Finally there is real value in paying for XBL. Good job MS.
Am happy but at the same time I hope we get balanced games that don't lean towards being P2W with shitty micro-transactions.
Great :) now to get some friends to come with me :p.
@n4rc
Not completely true. Some of gaikai's tech is powering the PSN network - Remote play, Play as you download, talking over someone's game and maybe even general PSN servers are powered by gaikai this was said in the PS4 reveal. There's also the misery into what they parnetship with open stack is for. We do know it's for "cloud" stuff.
But yes Sony don't have a set of servers they can readily make available to devs for compute...
@thrust
No but servers are not exclusive to XB1 :p
"You'd be stupid not to use it as long as it's in MP ". Fixed.
I don't think servers are free because respawn devs say otherwise there are just heavily discounted. Am guessing using compute stuff is free but dedicated servers are discounted.
"Most importantly to us, Microsoft priced it so that it’s far more affordable than other hosting options – their goal here is to get more awesome games, not to nickel-and-dime developers." ...
Hmmm it was locked in a "none" ventilated plastic box ofc it's going to overheat. Every electronic device would do the same without some air.
And no MS will not have the same issues considering they have a similar implementation.
Again the box didn't die it shut itself down to prevent it from dying and was working again after 2 seconds once it was removed from the plastic box.
@thrust
But he's right though XB1 & PS4 are going to be doing the same thing.
And the fact the system started working in 2 seconds after it was removed from a "none" ventilated case obviously means it's untrue.
Can't believe am hearing this. But Good job MS. Will have fun with it when it comes on X360.
Looool mistex going to down with this story even claiming that this is a brick. SMH. Someone needs to clam down on those crazy pills.

Maybe you should read it first...
Hmmm maybe read the article. There is no problem. It shutdown itself as a failsafe and restarted when it was safe again probably a similar situation to what MS has as well with the XB1.
"it had a red light (where the typical blue LED light) and had a message on the screen saying that the console had a very high temperature. The security case was opened and in two seconds the error message was removed and the light had returned to its normal color. “
True but that was also a tech demo done in a controlled environment in july 2013 so the application of that in the real world won't be seen anytime soon. Also like mastercornholio said its very heavily gpu based which is expensive atm.
So we will have to wait and see....
