You mean it does the same computing as any server if programmed to do so.
Ms is offloading stuff to leave room for other things to be done on the hardware mainly that's how they have described it.
Flare is trying to uiltise the power of servers to render games then stream it to a local client.
In no way are these two things the same expect from the fact that servers are computing data.

There is no local client. As in no console involved to do any rendering so it's not similar to what MS is doing.
Especially considering how they have talked about things like play as you download.
Their network simply can't be slow or inadequate or things like these won't work & there will be a big shitstorm.
Man the amount of times I wished something like this was on my X360.... Great to see Sony has improved on that concept.
At this point we need to either accept these policies and more on because we don't really have that many options console space wise. Even though I don't like these policies & practices am also ok with them now because I don't do anything that will get me in trouble with anyone & the chances of them actively recording/spying on me is slim as in the case of most people here I presume.

The big problem for MS is the XBL paywall in terms of targeting casuals who only care about media & do very little/no gaming what incentive is there for them to drop $500/£429 on an XB1 when they have all those services already or can they could get it cheaper with other more accessible products.
This only works with people that have some interest in gaming otherwise it doesn't do anything better than other alternatives do and that is a large market that MS will ...

Both consoles will be fine as long as they are kept in a well ventilated place. Only stupid people will have overheating issues. Both seem to be well designed to prevent overheating based on what we have been told and seen so far.
