BUT....to comment on what some people have been saying about Sony touting what their hardware and only their hardware can do I would say this.
Everyone ridiculed Sony when they said they would make a game on PS3 that looked as good as that infamous E3 target render for KZ2. Sony pulled it off and are going to be expanding on that feat starting with Uncharted 2 and God of War 3.
Their network and console runs a pretty good looking 60 player online game that runs f...
KZ2 is a fantastic game and Dev's recognise what good games are. I'd be certain some of the KZ2 devs have played some Gears at some stage because it's a fun game too.
CydoniaX on the PS Blog already confirmed there is voice chat in development although I think he/she also said that it would be via Home rather than the XMB.
Although if they get those text chat rooms stable it wouldn't surprise me if cross game voice chat via the XMB gets added.
With that said I like what the update contains, the video store stuff is cool but unfortunately does not benefit me as they haven't launched the video store in the UK yet.
The only part of that story that made any sense is that Depp would be perfect for the role of the doc
Backwards Compatibility will eventually come, I believe a big reason for it being removed was Sony's business model by using the profits from the PS2 (and PSP) to cover any losses being made on PS3 hardware.
I've always said that either when the PS3 becomes more affordable for them to produce and make money off or make a virtually negligible loss on OR when they drop the PS2/PS2 becomes less important then they will bring in BC via software emulation via a FW update.
...
I'll believe the FW release date when I read it on the Playstation Blog and not before.
The same goes for the features, if any, that it will bring.
There has simply been too much unfounded and uneducated guessing as to when the update is coming. People thinking it was coming with the R2 patch is a prime example.
The reasoning for it being thought it would be released with the R2 update was both unfounded and completely uninformed.
The reason people thought that was because of the dual PSN sign in feature with R2. People were thinking a FW update was needed to allow for it and they were right but that FW feature came in an earlier version of firmware.
The author of this article is maybe assuming a little too much.
His only announcements are by Sony Pictures Entertainment. I'd imagine game announcements for PSP would come from Sony Computer Entertainment who are as he so rightly puts it, a seperate entity.
With that said though, the PSP is getting some serious love this year in terms of games so to ask the question which is the title of the article on this website (it's not the title on the source website, nor ...
I haven't been interested in Home since the beta purely because of the lack of content. It still does interest me but only when the content and features are in there like game launching for many games and game spaces, good videos etc. in the theatre.
Home has a lot of potential, hopefully it's close to realising it.
I decided a little while ago I like the look of Ninja Blade and the demo got me even more interested.
I'll be picking this game up based on the gameplay videos I've seen and I thought the demo was cool.
How can you say it won't convince you to buy a PS3 and then say the demo might change your mind?
You're clearly not interested in the PS3, I'd stick to articles focused on whatever platform it is you are interested in if I were you. That way you might be able to make more than 2 comments in any 1 article.
Firefox is still by far and away my favoutite browser and Opera is right behind it.
Ok that trailer was much better than anything I have previously seen for this game and it has made me anticipate it's release a fair bit more. Everything I've sene previously looks so unpolished but this looked great.
Oh and wtf was that an elbow drop on the tank in #7 ????????
I hit the HQ button on the youtube page and the quality of the video was pretty good. I can just imagine how it'll look on my HD tv when it is actually the finished product.
This isn't about Sony vs MS - it's about MS price gouging for an accessory that shouldn't cost anywhere close to what it does. It's a wireless network adapter for God's sake.
A NIC (Network Interface Card) that goes in your desktop can be bought for around $20-$30 and that is when you are buying retail. A wireless network adapter can be purchased for around the same price.
If these were bought in bulk to be built into the console it probably wouldn't cost very much a...
There's really no excusing the price of the wireless adapter.
It isn't a fanboy thing or wven about which console you prefer. It's a wireless adapter, doesn't matter what it is for it is extortionate.
I'm a much bigger fan of my PS3 than I am of my 360 and that preference is purely based on games I like and nothing else.
But really, people need to see the similarities here. MS do pay devs for exclusivity, it's an incentive in it's own way. They get exclusivity or times exclusivity and the dev/publisher get revenue from the sales of the game plus whatever MS pays them to subsidise what they could have earned from sales on another system.
With Sony matching the ...
Just be like kotaku and abandon scores.
Love them or hate them you have to like their review system. You don't have to always agree with their opinions in the review but at least they leave out the stupid scores that serve no other purpose than to fuel fanboy wars.
Been watching these videos all week and they are very interesting. I can't imagine how hyped I'm going to be for this game after seeing the combat director interview tomorrow!
Even still, that isn't a huge amount per person.
But we know it isn't going to be exactly like that. Some gamers will have unlocked a LOT more than 150
