Hardware is light years ahead of software at the moment. Blame proprietary implementations (like video game consoles) if you like. I do.
Yeah it's an arena battle style online game. Think along the lines of Mount & Blade, or Guild Wars' team arenas. I think the graphics look incredible, and gameplay could be a lot of fun with good map variation etc. Dunno what the haters are talking about tbh. Looking forward to something like this, though I'm not sure if this is much more than a glorified tech demo for CryEngine3.
Big agree man. I don't care for a second if some WoW addict wants to throw some extra cash around to be a little more unique in game. Hell, I used to be a WoW addict, and can definitely see the appeal. Mounts are just one of those things in game that people use to differentiate themselves from the 11 million other people populating their world. I'd hold off on the initial release of the 480. It's a beast at sub-2560x resolutions, but you can boil water on it's heatsink, and start a car with it's power draw.
