I may as well sell mine. I can't use it anyway! (server down, try again later...)
He's right about achievements. We used to play games because we enjoyed them. Now we play them to swell our e-peen (gamerscore). Developers think of the most tedious, asinine, time consuming ways to keep us playing their usually shitty games. Pacing? Story arc? Gone, baby, gone.
Personally I think that if a single person pays money for something you've created, then you can call that a success. Unfortunately we have this nasty little "hype" thing always creeping in. Not to mention the reality of the bottom line.
And yes, Dyack did hype his own game, or more accurately, embodied the saying "The best defense is a good offense," when discussing the game with fans/haters on the internet. Why he would even bother, though, is b...
Actually I think the point, maybe not of this particular video, but of the whole PS3/360 RDR debacle is this:
The 360 version is superior, but not in a way that impacts gameplay or enjoyment of the title. If you have the choice, get it for 360. If you don't, you don't.
"I'm ASTAR, a robot. I can put my arm back on. You can't. So PLAYSAFE!"
I don't speak much German.
Yeah :(
Exactly what I did :P
I agree Walmart is awesome, but I don't really trust them on brand new titles yet. Maybe I'll give them a try next time. My buddy who works there says they are pretty good.
I preordered the PS3 version, then asked to switch to the 360 while I was standing at the till today. They accomodated my wishes with no problems. I also got $30 credit for the game I traded in; some May special. I must be in the monority, or maybe they just suck less here in Canada (EB Games), but I've always been pretty satisfied with their service.
Actually, except for the unsealed game thing, and that has only happened to me once... but when I ask for a new copy...
3d dot game heroes on psp? is it the same game as the ps3 version?
Oh man I loved Tribes. My 2nd favorite online shooter ever, after Counterstrike. Unreal (not UT) is a close third.
I was hoping to relive the glory of the jetpack/disc launcher in Halo: Reach, but it doesn't even compare. :(
I still see the intro flyby of Unreal in my dreams. This game made me a real PC gamer.
zorglub, while certainly making inferences about you personally, is merely pointing out what we all know. westerners (not just americans) are extremely conservative when it comes to sex and the human body, but with violence, anything goes.
on any given day, you can find screenshots, videos, and extensive commentary on ultra violent, blood spattered material on this or any other gaming site. the instant something sexually explicit pops up, however, people like you are cryi...
I give huge props to developers like From Software and Nippon Ichi Software and the publishers that pick up their games. They keep things fresh and interesting; pretty much the Anti-Activision/EA.
@A change in the wind:
"Shooterbox 3 Shooter"
Rofl!
Lol when I saw the article I immediately thought they'd be remiss not to throw some T&A in there somewhere.
Playing Uncharted for the first time right now, and yeah, I spent a good 5 mins running around that area checking out the scenery.
Big Agree.
"The US can give the whole nation content at the same time why the hell can't EU?"
Last time I checked, the United States is a country, and Europe is a continent.
Here in Canada we miss out on a lot of things that are offered in the US as well. It usually has to do with licensing. A recent example would be a big contest by Bioware (a Canadian developer published by American Electronic Arts), which was not available to Canadians.
How does the color make it look cheap? The boxes are EXACTLY the same, save for the color difference. I think it's nice that I can save some bucks and pick up all the great titles from years past.
It's summer! Go outside!
