Mass Effect 2 is like Mass Effect without the RPG elements. It's an action shooter with minimal character development, zero inventory management, and episodic missions. Totally killed the series for me.

I've spent the past 3 days playing Final Fantasy XIII, and must say it's one of my favorites in the series. I am aware that the first 20-25 hours are very linear, but it tells a DAMN good story with a lot of emotion and strong characterization. The battle sys...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I hate mega-corporations, but I have to side with Acti on this one. This is not the first time Zampala and West felt they were bigger than the industry.

All they do is amalgamate industry review scores, and slap an average on it. Game journalism is incredibly subjective, if anyone hasn't noticed yet. It's not unusual to see scores for the SAME game range from 25% to 95%. It basically has to do with how much the individual reviewer enjoys his/her experience with the game.

I find Metacritic quite handy when I want to browse through different reviews, to see different points of view on a game.

The...

I bought a PS3 the other day specifically for this title. I hate how reviews are released weeks early these days. I was having enough trouble dealing with the anticipation without having to read about how awesome it is!

Red Bull is so overhyped. Monster has twice the niacin, and four times the guarana, plus I can install Linux on it.

See what I did there? Get a life fanboys.

There is a spawn timer, but it has expired by the time most people have loaded the map. I load in about 4 seconds now, vs. about a minute previously. I have a 5870, but hadn't grabbed the 10.4 drivers until now (NHL playoffs baby). What a difference!

Okay you're right, Blockbuster was a bad example. I wasn't aware they had been mulling over bankruptcy protection, but you are absolutely right. I was really only illustrating the difference between an analogy that makes sense, though you have shown it to be inaccurate, and one that doesn't (ie: cassette tapes).

I only disagreed once. ;) Stating your case in a more considerate manner will generate less negative feedback.

You're really anticipating a price drop out of this? Really?

You think publishers give a sh¡t about the environment? That's so far fetched and unbelievable, they don't even make the claim. It's all about the Benjamins, mang.

I find this much less impressive than Unigine's Heaven demo. However, it's a good tesselation showcase. Switch to wireframe w/ F1, and watch the action as you get closer to an object. This dynamic scaling should allow for impressive detail in the next generation of open world games, provided the developers take/are given the time to put in the work.

When you assume, you make an ass out of u... The rest doesn't apply here.

I am a big fan of digital distribution. I am also, however, a big fan of getting something tangible for my money. There's a big difference between owning a game, and owning a license to download and play a game.

I have purchased many games through Steam, Impulse, and Direct2Drive. For titles that I am really looking forward too, though, I still like to go through the whole pre-order/pic...

First it's the manual, then it's the disc. Soon we'll be buying download coupons at retail. Digital distribution +1, production values -100.

Apple-bashing is something we can ALL partake in! This is a gaming site, not a tech industry site.

"2. He [sic] ipad is a gaming device and belongs here."

Yeah, with FIFTY THOUSAND GAMES!!! Kool-Aid man says "OH YEAH!"

I can play Tetris on my TI-83+... Guess it's a portable gaming device too.
