Site already gets a large amount of traffic. It is probably 'just' down.
Site is down.
Derp.
Advertising does not mean you allow people to have something for free.
What planet are you from?
How does allowing a bunch of people to get something for free that they would otherwise pay for be good for the developer?
Maybe good for thieves, no one else.
Jim sterling - "Some people are attempting to justify PC piracy by saying it happens on consoles too. Yes, of course it does. But "Look over here, they're doing it too" isn't a fucking justification. Besides which, the level of piracy on the PC is famously more prevalent than on consoles. Even on the Wii, it's not quite the same, as the Wii's primary demographic is different, and it's a demographic that doesn't pirate anywhere near as much. It still take...
Because they pirates downloaded the leak, which is theft.
And no one knows who leaked the internal build, all we know is pirates are not supposed to have it.
If you throw money onto the streets, you are pretty much saying that you give that money up as your property and anyone else can have it.
You argument does not add up.
Notable paragraph from the piece:
"2D Boy's World of Goo was released without DRM, and the creators said they trusted their audience. One of the two-man development team, Ron Carmel, noted afterwards that he was seeing multiple torrents with 500 seeders and 300 leechers, and added that the piracy rate was at about 90%. This was 2D Boy's reward for trusting gamers. This is what they got for making a game easy to obtain, but easy to steal. Really guys, fuck you for...
There was supposed to be a PC multiplayer demo. What is the difference who gets it 'first'?
Do PC gamers really feel that entitled?
They are already getting the best version, yet they still whine.
Man, all these guys in the master race sure do cry a lot.
Tell me that you would pirate a game like Alan Wake, just 'try' it, and then if you liked it, bought it. Doubtful. Most people would pirate it, play the SP, and forget about it because it doesn't have the 'all important' MP time-sink.
I could see the argument hold up a little with a game with multiplayer, but I don't see most people buying something they can get for free.
And this looks freakin amazing
@RedDead
Why do you call yourself a pirate/theif, because that is what you are?
Flame article flames.
If the author does not know that Max Payne 3 is coming to Xbox 360, how can he be expected to write an informed article?
I like magazines because all worthwhile information can be found in a few dozen pages, while the internet is full of crap.
I would take a magazine (if I could afford it) over internets any day.
All of them are old news.
Please explain to me how Kevin Butler is in any way classy? Not saying I don't like him, but no, he is not classy.
@ Pein,
That quote does not mention the 360, so you are making an assumption.
Any equally valid assumption would be that they left it out because it would not have fit on the Blu-ray either. Also, it might not have fit the rest of the game.
Dev's make all kinds of extra content that they cut from the final game. Everything they make does not end up in the final project for any number of reasons.
I love loot. I love Borderlands. Enough said.
I think they meant to have Microsoft instead of Sony. Sign doesn't really make sense.
Many MMOs are now becoming successful through microtransactions, which could mean there would be less of a problem of MMOs coming to consoles, specifically 360
