How do you review a BETA?
I like how all of the sudden people who have not played the game (including Chris, who at the time of this review had not received his copy) know what score a game deserves, whereas the people who have played it (the reviewer) should be dismissed because of the number they assigned the game (which is merely their opinion of it).

You claim I am the one trolling yet you lie in your post? Metacritic ( http://goo.gl/CiHXn) has the game at a 57 with GamePro giving it a lower score than Jim and Gamekult giving it a 40. A PS3 magazine even gave the game a 58. I me really, it is not like Jim gave it a 10.
And yes, you are reviewing a game for yourself and for the people who read your reviews because THEY HAVE AGREED WITH YOUR reviews before

If you don't like him as a reviewer, don't read his reviews. It is as simple as that. You should only read reviews by people who have gaming interests which align with yours.

Instead you decide (arbitrarily I might add) that you don't like the score he gave a game you like, and automatically disagree with him based on your preconceived notions (this is known as bias).

If it can run so well on consoles, why not just release it for them then?
1. Why should the industry change because some amoral hackers found out a way to strip copy protection from games/consoles so that people could still the games? That is like saying because a gang of fifty people run into a grocery store and steal a ton of food, supermarkets should change their business model.
2. Pirates are thieves, they are stealing a product, that by law, they have to pay for to possess.

Uh, if you don't think COD looks like crap, you must only play COD.
Cod does not have destructible environments, nor does it have fleshed out interiors to buildings (in MP) so what are you talking about.
Because they run at 60 FPS, no tearing, but with albeit poor graphics.
RFG ran with tons of screen tearing and variable FPS, and had average graphics.

I think there is pretty good evidence that it is Syndicate. Also, OXM editor said he was surprised someone had guessed it, which would at least rule out HALO.

You are making the assumption that PS3 exclusives are as good as Xbox 360 titles, thus they should all be rated approximately the same. Maybe your assumption is false.
Also, look how old the games are that encompass the cross-section of games for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in that dataset. Old is old.

The author starts off by saying that reviews are other peoples' opinions and inherently subjective, and that different people like different things. Well he should have just stopped there. Not everyone is going to give the game a 10/10, nor is everyone going to give it a 1/10. Why he cares if someone gave it a 7 is beyond me.
Really, I don't see why the 'meta' score matters to him, or anyone else.
Why don't teachers grade drafts of papers?
Edit: I think it is fine to write about your experiences of a demo or a beta. Guess what you usually call them? Impressions. If you do not have full access to the full version of a game, you can not review and are being disingenuous labeling your story as such.
Again, don't rate the beta/demo, write up an impressions article.
