Well I don't know about you, but I put 50 hours into Mass Effect 2 and still have not done everything so I would say you have a massive RPG already on your plate.
Most of the data is less-compressed video (no, not uncompressed). Using different algorithms, you can really cut down on how much space the video takes up and still have it look almost exactly the game.
It is not like it is 43 GB and they could not possibly get it any smaller, they just have no reason to and like to peddle around that number because obviously fanboys hear that number and are like oh my.
Game looks good, and almost colorful.
Also, Rage is open-world, 60 FPS, unlike Dead Space which is more like a corridor shooter.
I could just as easily say that Dead Space 2 is nothing to drool over because it does not have foliage.
STUNNING video with some STUNNING effects. Now all I need is a game that isn't STUNNING so I know that everything isn't STUNNING, otherwise, does STUNNING really mean anything if everything is STUNNING.
How about technology in general holds back developers?
If you would have even taken the time to glance at the article, the dev talks about how having unlimited storage and 128 GBs of RAM would still be a limitation.
But since you did not read the article, you are obviously only here to troll in favor of the PS3 which has the same amount of RAM as the 360, a weaker GPU ( 5475d ago 8 agree4 disagreeView comment
I would like to see where you come up with the arbitrary figure of the CPU of PS3 being 2.5x more powerful than that of the 360.
Oh wait, I answered my own question, it is an arbitrary number from someone who doesn't understand the technology.
What a shitty title for this article.
The second paragraph of the 'story':
"When asked 'Five years since Xbox 360 appeared on the market...do you feel that the hardware is stopping you from doing what you'd like?' he said, "Yes, but any developer in the world will ALWAYS say that, no matter what. We could have 128 GB of RAM and it still won't be enough." He went on to add, "Seriously, though, it feels pretty good making game...
@geodood
There is little to no known footage of Crysis 2 of PC. If you have some, please provide a link. Otherwise, you cannot say it doesn't look better.
More like "5 games that we didn't like that other people did"
What don't people get? Reviews are opinions.
Uhm, if the game has better graphics than Crysis 1 (to be seen), but runs at the same specs, that IS optimized...
No offense, but why would someone have a PC and not have an internet connection?
not to mention it is only required for installation, not constantly.
Or, LBP2 was better in your opinion. Maybe Jim Sterling just likes TW2 more, what is so wrong with that?
Plenty of games with the feared SP-only of only 8 hours that I would pick up over multiplayer only games (like CoD).
Played all the games (a million years ago). They were good then, don't know if I would want to go back in play them though. Not too innovative by today's standards. I would rather try (and suffer through) Alpha Protocol, now.
I would expect everything mentioned in this article to be in the PC version, no questions asked..
Haven't played an open-world RPG since Oblivion. NEED to pick this up, now.
To Everyone: If my links go down and you want to watch the vids, I will send you a private link if you PM me.
