@Blumatt
You are so smart, yet you do not even know what the word objective means.
In fact, if you could prove to me how asking the question "Is Kinect too expensive?" is not subjective, you will receive exactly one cookie.
$150 dollars * 8 million units sold > $500 million dollars of advertising
Shouldn't this be under rumor?
Then this may force MS to make a move to keep their numbers up.
How is this a bad thing for either side?
Too bad it looks like this: http://goo.gl/Zm1sg
Compressed images are compressed.
Doesn't look as great as the attached image though

Wow, 128 vertical lines make such a difference.
-.-
You can look at the number all you want, they mean little. And game looks fine.
Regardless of the resolution, that does not take into account the AI, the textures, the draw distance, the destruction, performance, dropped frames, art design, or anything.
720p is one part of the equation, but is hardly that much of it.
I like how people assume that the developers are lazy instead of assuming the PS3 just isn't as strong as they think.
1. The PS3 is not as strong as people think it is.
2. The developers are lazy.
Both are perfectly valid assumptions, but there is not any more evidence for 2, than there is for 1.
But of course I am being sarcastic. The PS3 is so powerful it should have twice the draw distance of the 360 version. I mean if the PS3 ...
Everything is, except that stone wall.
Read the article next time.
We aren't NPCs, so you won't see any of us.
Thank god Skyrim is not an MMO.
"The ps3 does look to have a better exclusives lineup this year so far, but really I don't see the difference being that big. Each has stuff I want and stuff I don't want. I really hope 360 has more interesting kinect projects (like project draco) this year and I do hope that crytek kingdoms game is something special.
People need to get over the console wars bullshit, some years MS has the edge and others sony does, or a matter of taste will veer you one way. MS ...
I think that the author is right when he talks about how a lot of devs are just slapping MP onto the game. But it is our fault because we don't buy games that have a great 8-hour SP campaign because they don't have MP, which is stupid. Most people only have time for one MP game anyway (COD, BF0 so what is the difference if a game has MP or not? We are ruining the industry, the devs aren't.
Game is looking good
After buying the first 4 the day of release and playing them to death, I still don't know why I don't have Paradise.
Why is this game not hardcore? Because of the aesthetic?
Because that is not a good reason.
I am pissed as all hell that Kingdom Under Fire 2 was lost on the Xbox though. That is BS. Hopefully I will have a PC for that though.
I had the original XBOX from day 1, and I think the only exclusives I had were Halo:CE and Splinter Cell 1 and 3.
If I was a big JRPG fan like you, I am sure I would have at least a PS3 now, if not both consoles. But since I am not reliant on any one genre for my gaming pleasure, it does not bother me in the least I only have ...
I still haven't bought DA:O, but now that the ultimate edition is out, I will get that.
Looks like I will be doing the same here.
Edit: Now that I have read the interview (Stpid for not doing in the first place), he says this:
"oh it’s probably comparable to say Mass Effect 2, maybe a little bit bigger than that. " Well, it took me 30+ hours to complete ME2, so I am not really worried anymore.
@Chris
There are still multiplats. The only Xbox exclusive I have on my shelf is Crackdown, which I bought for 10 dollars.
I am not buying a new console (PS3) just to play Ni No Kuni, which is the only game I am currently interested in on PS3, but I am saving money to build a gaming PC, though I don't think many JRPGs come out on that platform.

The point of advertising a product at the beginning of its lifecycle is to saturate the market with it. Once the market is saturated, games start to sell, which makes MS money.
Whether or not they have made the 500 million back you is not the point, it is that they got 8 million units into the market, and can now focus on games for the unit to make money.
