Yeah.. It's really not a good time to upgrade your computer right now..
There's a lot of major advancements going on and a big feud between CPU and GPU that could change a lot of things.
I'm probably gonna wait a few months after GT200 comes out and see what else is in the works.. If nothing else big is close coming then i'm going to one of those.
No they 9800 series has been out for a long time..
It was called the 8800 series :). You wasted your money if you bought one of the 9 series instead of an 8. Unless you have a lot of money to waste on things lol.
Lol this isn't graphics card speculation. These are true specs about the card.
Great.
Nvidia's upcoming GT200 is built ready to use GDDR5, can't wait :P
It depends on how updated you were.
If your a person who stuck with a stock version of XP.. Then it's a huge boost.
If your a person who had all the newest update.. Then the booster wasn't as big.
But there is still a boost none the less, which is great for me and ma gaming :P
Why even compare a single chip card to a dual chip card?
Nvidia will slap 2 of those GT200 babies on a single board to make a GX2 version.. That's when you compare it to the R700. And since it beats the RV770 which is just a single chip R700, then it would beat the R700 in dual chip form to :).
Can't wait to see all the specs of the GT200 when it's shown later this month!
Yeah see that's the thing though... Uses more resources cause you have to use Wine lol.
Windows XP is the perfect design and function for me.. I don't want or need to change to anything :)
Maybe for you it is.
But for me, XP is the only way to go.
I have an old computer so I need to save all the resources I can. So Vista isn't something I'd want to use.
I'm also a person who installs a lot of software and likes to try new games. So Linux isn't a good idea if I want to do that.
Go to "Start>Control Panel"
"Sounds and Audio Devices"
And check "Place Volume icon in Task Bar"
Problem solved :)
If you actually read it, you would realize that this makes it so it's like buying a new CPU for your motherboard.
Instead of buying a whole new motherboard you just put in a new CPU right? (usually unless it needs a new socket type)
So what Asus is doing, is the same thing. You just replace the graphics chip, not the whole graphics board.
Which would make it cheaper for people to upgrade. This is a lot better solution then what we have. If it ever takes ground.
No we don't have to wait actually.
Because PirateBay already went threw this before.
They had all their servers raided and were taken to court. But they won because no copyrighted material was found on the servers. Since torrents are legal. Just not the data that they download.
They didn't screw up XP.
SP3 is a damn good f*cking upgrade. With some great performance increase.
Just a bunch of bumbsh!t OEM's who gave Microsoft the wrong drivers for people with AMD machines.
That's doesn't make SP3 bad for Intel people. And some AMD people.
I have an Intel CPU so I'm happy as can be.
Because SP3 brings a good amount of performance increase to your computer. So all you complainers who are complaining about problems other people had, are missing out on a performance increase :). (that includes games to)
I'm pretty sure it's not mean't for Media Center Edition.
It's for Windows XP Home or Professional/Corporate/Student
Every thought maybe your computer is just f*cked up Vip3r?
Because XP3 installed with ease on my computer and 100's of thousands of other peoples computers. So it's obviously a problem with your computer.
Was that a joke?
Cause if your serious... I really can't do anything but laugh...
...I really hope that was a joke lol.
Does the image on the box remind anyone else of a certain internet "meme" lol.
Incredibly close actually....
I can't wait for this game. It's looking to be really fun and unique.
Hopefully the story line is going to be very good.
All you guys talking about this being an FPS..
But this isn't an FPS.
Yes you can pick up someones gun if you need to. But it will hamper your speed and performance. And you can only use the ammo that's in the gun. Dice has made it clear that this is not a shooter type game.
This game is focused on hand to hand combat. So I would call it a FPF.. First Person Fighter lol.
deeznuts: Actually...
That's a fault with 32bit Windows.
There is a patch you can get that allows Windows XP to detect all 4GB of the RAM.
http://www.microsoft.com/wh...
PAE - Physical Address Extension
Windows Server 2003 SP1, Datacenter Edition can use up to 128 GB of physical RAM with PAE enabled.
Windows XP can use up to 4GB...
