It's odd that Microsoft get's made fun of all the time. But when someone makes fun of Apple it becomes headline news.

Just stating my observation..

I personally believe people shouldn't get to worked up about these things. Cause in the end it's always about what YOU WANT. People will always be around to joke about a product. It's there personal opinion and there entitled to it.

Study the kind of product you want, always go around and look at different co...

You would have it as a motherboard feature then. Directly integrated in the Bios. On startup you'd press a key which would cue a script that just fills the memory. No virus can stop something like that unless the virus is also in the motherboard's Bios. Which it would have to re-flash the Bios to do. Which is not exactly the easiest feat for a virus.

And even if that didn't work. You could have a physical overwrite chip on the motherboard. So you'd have a button leading to the mo...

You'd merely have to have a Reboot and a "Fresh Reboot".

The Fresh Reboot would clear all the data from the memory when shutting down, giving a clean startup.

@Guardian0fPeace: Yeah I didn't want to put that part into my comment cause I know for a fact i'd have an onslaught of disagree voting and bubble removing.

Well.. you have to remember a LARGE portion of the gamers on here couldn't care less about breakthroughs in computing technology. And a lot of them wouldn't even be able to fully understand what is being said in the article, due to being of a young age or just uneducated.

They mainly want to see news directly related to gaming.. or something really crazy like a penguin flying around the world using a jet-pack and some duck-tape.

Yeah, all you would have to do is create a command that tells the computer to fill the memory with 0's or 1's so that it's empty again. Deleting any source of a virus.

Basically the new memory would be like the virtual memory on your hard drive. Except it wouldn't be virtual and on a hard disc.

Yeah it's about time a new architecture is made.. Current CPU architecture is long drawn out to it's max..resulting in the creation of multiple cores instead of creating a faster architecture. Since it's much easier to do that way.

But people are forgetting that Intel is working on a new architecture also.. Larabee. It's a CPU/GPU chip. And they've got some other things there working on..

But guess well just have to play the waiting game and see :).

Also.. Anothe...

It's a never ending war that been going on for years..

There not going to destroy themselves for bringing out better cards.

If there wasn't any competition. Companies wouldn't care as much about bringing out better and better graphics cards to advance our technology at an amazing pace.

No one knows for sure right now.

But with an atleast 33% increase in transistors. I'd say it's safe to assume this card will be able to conquer Crysis.

They'll most likely come up with a new naming scheme after that. So that they can give the next line of a cards a fresh look.

It's not 3 to 4 new series..

9 Series came this year.. 8 Series came last year.

9 series is a refresh of 8 except for this new high-end card coming for the 9 series.

There just making cards available for people who want em. People aren't forced to buy them. But it is pretty bad of them to make this one a whole new series. When it's the same cards as the 8 series pretty much.

Anyways, Has nothing to do with this card. This is a whole new GPU. Wa...

@SuperSaiyan4: Uhhh.. I think you've got mixed info.

The only thing games aren't really fully utilizing yet are QUAD-CORE CPU's.
There's only a few games out that fully take advantage of a Quad Core.
There's quite a few for Dual-Cores now.

But on the side of Graphics cards... Games don't need to be "built to utilize" them. The GPU is merely designed faster. What your thinking of is when people put more then one card in there computer. Yes most g...

I'm currently waiting for this card before I upgrade my computer parts.

Over 1 Billion transistors in a graphics chip... To put that into perspective..

The GeForce 8800GT/GTS only have 754million Transistors..(8800Ultra only has 681 oddly.)

This cards sure to be a hit.

(Btw, I used Engadget's take on it instead of the main source cause it is a better read. There's an alt source for the source story.)

Quote: "And since an affordable card only differs from more expensive ones in its clock speed"

That's quite false.

If that were true. Then why would I buy a Radeon HD 3870 clocked at 800mhz, instead of the Radeon 3450 clocked at 800mhz?

Because the more expensive the card, the better features it has. Clockspeed has almost nothing to do with it.

The more expensive cards have more pixel pipelines/stream processing units, higher memor...

Lol PC is sh!t.. Ok there buddy.

PC's will always be more up to date than Mac's. Since people can "UPDATE" their parts as soon as they come out :).

So take your Mac fanboyism somewhere else. It's not needed here.

You should have kept the key you used to validate your original windows installation.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone update to SP3. It merely improves your computers performance. (more FPS ftw..) And more security holes patched.

Playstation wasn't the first to use CD's.

The Sega CD was the first to use CD's :).

And you didn't need a modchip for the PS1. You could merely load a real disc while holding down the tiny trigger at the back that keeps the disc spinning and then swap it with a pirated game at the Playstation logo screen lol.

It made the Playstation verify that you had a real game loading, but after that verification was done.. When you switched disc's it would then star...

At the page that this story leads to. Other people also asked about this. The solution posted was.

"Try changing it from SD to MCard in the SRAM menu... Then changing the thing below it to Front SD."

And yes, You create a saves folder.
