"each GPU costs roughly $100-$120 to produce"
"GTX 260 SKU priced at $450 and a GTX 280 card listed at $650."
As much as I love Nvidia and how good it is at making GPU's.
I hate how much their overprice there stuff!!!!! God dammit Nvidia.
Only 100-120$ to produce the chip, how can you possibly justify selling it for $650!!!!!!! That is quite ridiculous.
This story is a major blow at Intel.
Because this further proves Nvidia's statements about CPU's being outdated and slowly not being needed anymore, and that GPU's are superior processors.
Old ass news.
I've been covering all of Fudzilla's stories and posting them here. The launch date has been posted here numerous times, along with all these details and much more <_<.
Yeah agree, This is a slap in the face to all those people who kept saying this kind of thing wouldn't happen.
But it was only common sense that it would.
This is one of those steps that leads to a mainly downloadable future for media instead of buying it as discs.
Yes, games themselves are computed in 3D!
BUT!!!
That doesn't mean it's actually 3D.
Remember, your only looking at a picture of a 3D image. And a picture is only 2D. (Width x Height)
What 3D TV's do is send 2 different angles of a 3D image at your eyes. Which will make you see objects in the same perspective as you would in real life. It gives a sense of "depth". Which is the 3rd Dimension.(Width x Height x Depth)
Actually you can on the Wii now.
You install the Wii Homebrew Channel.
It's an actual WII CHANNEL that was created by people in the homebrew scene.
Once installed using the TP hack. The homebrew channel is shown along side all the other channels on your Wii. You simply click it to start it, and you can load any homebrew you have.
There are a few factors as to why the PS3 isn't fully cracked yet.
1.) It uses an entirely new and QUITE expensive media. (Blu-ray)
2.) The PS3's hardware is very complicated so they're are a lot of things you have to look at and over come.
3.) Blu-Ray burners and readers for the computer to back-up and burn PS3 games are HELLA expensive.
I hate Facebook for the fact that our MOM's know about it..and make accounts their also.
I'd rather not have my mom giving me messages and watching what my friends are saying to me..
Facebook is way to popular to moms these days.
I hope the guy posting this and the guy who wrote the blog realizes that the more you talk about it, the more people find out about it.
So you guys are essentially fueling the fire.
Also it's been cracked for a long time.
But this doesn't make it so you can play actual Wii games without a modchip... And I doubt you will ever be able to without one for a long time, if ever even.
The only thing this really effects is Nintendo's virtual console...
How is this the right way?
Just adding more and more chips is no way to advance technology. It's a short cut to more performance. Anyone can add 2 chips of their best "large, very high-performance chips" onto a pcb. And it's actually a bit of a scam. Because it makes many people think their going to get double the performance because it has 2 chips. When in reality it's only going to be a roughly 10-25% performance increase over the single chip version.
AMD...
Naw. GT200 will be alot faster.
It is known for sure that the GT200 has an actual physical 512bit bus. While the 4870 only has a 256bit bus that uses ATI's hyperthreading type technique to make it a virtual 512bit. Like a Pentium 4 HT pretending to be dual core.
And Nvidia has almost doubled the performance of it's shaders on the GT200. And the card will have around 1 Billion transistors.
So no matter what, this card is going to be a power house.
Yeah, Single chip is always the best way to go if you can. Because games aren't every fully optimized for multi-gpu setups. And the drivers for multi-gpu setups aren't very good.
Single chips will always provide they're full performance for all games. No coding needed.
Well then your not that much of a tech fan.
A lot of people on this site are very interested in news on upcoming technologies.
Ouch... Only supposed to be around the speed of a 9800GTX?
I feel sorry for Ati =/... Because Nvidia's GT200 chip coming out 2 days after this one is a huge... HUGE ASS performance increase.
Also, the R700 Ati is bringing out in August is only 2 RV770's on a single PCB..
So that means their merely bringing out a competitor for the 9800GX2 at that time lol.....
Wow....
That means something actually wrong with your computer, not Firefox. Do you have all the latest updates for you computer. (DirectX, Adobe Flash Player/Shockwave, Java..)
LOL, a year or so to be reliable?
Graphics cards are almost always reliable right off the shelf. Yeah, newer drivers might help them perform a little bit better down the road. But that doesn't mean there not reliable.
"So, what can you do with general-purpose GPU (GPGPU) acceleration in Photoshop? We saw the presenter playing with a 2 GB, 442 megapixel image like it was a 5 megapixel image on an 8-core Skulltrail system. Changes made through image zoom and through a new rotate canvas tool were applied almost instantly. Another impressive feature was the import of a 3D model into Photoshop, adding text and paint on a 3D surface and having that surface directly rendered with the 3D models' reflection ma...
They're rolling over sorta like the miles on your car..
Nvidia can't just keep raising the number... 20 years later: The new "Super XXX Quint-High-Def GeForce Extreme 120352 GTX ULTRA"
It just starts to get ridiculous.. and 10,000 is that ridiculous mark.
spooky205: And there's also the better codec support the 605 has. You can also watch videos from the internet on the 605 and have them show on your TV in real time while it's streaming. It also uses Opera web browser which you can customize with widgets. It's also a fully capable GPS system with the newly introduced update. You just buy the GPS cradle attachment and stick it to your windshield :P.
I thought people cared more about functionality and not style? When did we all turn...
Yeah of course..
But just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
Nvidia would have an even stronger following and highly increased sales if they would drop their prices a bit.
The amount of customers they would gain would cover the amount of money lost from lowering the price and give them an even better reputation.
Don't get me wrong, Nvidia is my favorite. I just hate how their decisions on pricing.
