All these supposed insiders ever talk about is bottleneck this and bottleneck that. What hole are these guys crawling from?!
The thing I don't get about the voice commands is why do you need a camera to do it? Siri and Google Voice work just fine infact much better than the Kinect's and doesn't need to include a cam. Even PS4 doesn't need a cam for voice commands. I know the cam is needed for the gestures but that's the least marketed feature. Whenever Kinect is mentioned all people talk about is voice commands. I've yet to hear anyone praise the gesture features not even Microsoft.
You've got quite an imagination there kid lol
They won't for long if they keep making decisions like this.
Like a lamb to the slaughter.
I think gaming in general has gotten away from the family and friends aspect in favor of online gaming. While you can play with friends online it is by no means the same experience. One of my classic childhood memories is playing Tekken 2 with my dad. We would literally stay up all night playing that game. We used to do that also with Double Dragon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 the Arcade game. Now that's when games were really fun.
Yeah it does seem like 2013 was primarily a hardware year. Even all the way back to Feb when PS4 was announced it was all about hardware. There was a few great games that came out this year but mostly it was all about setting the stage for the next generation to come in. 2014 will be all about games.
I'll say it was a good year. Certainly not great or fantastic but it was good. There was a couple gems here and there as well as a few diamonds in the rough but overall I'd say it was decent. One thing I didn't like was this shift to micro transactions. It really has no place on consoles when your already paying full price for a supposedly complete video game. leave that crap to 99 cent mobile games.
Not saying it isn't. I have a 3D TV with 2 sets of glasses that I do enjoy but the bottom line is it just didn't catch on with enough people. For most it's seen as a gimmick and it also raises the price. However nobody likes to hear the truth, that's why I only have 3 bubbles lol
First smoke and now liquid? I don't care much for Xbox One but I hope this isn't true. Enough's enough already lol
Far Cry 3 was almost perfect, but i agree with everyone else that the story fell off big time after Vass was killed. That seemed like that should have been the end of the game. The other villians were so unimportnant I couldn't understand why Jason Brody felt the need to pursue them. The only parts of the game I enjoyed after Vass died was when he would go see that women who was queen of the island. I'm hoping FC4 has a more polished well rounded story line from start to finish. FC3 s...
Well to be fair with the Kinect I guess you can say Sony went through some of the same issues pushing 3D. 3D only added to the cost of PS3, a feature not too many people cared about and even PS TV did sell well. The result was a waste of an investment. Personally I think Microsoft might have been better off not pushing the Kinect so hard. The Kinect is like a glass half full at it's best. It would be a different story if it worked flawlessly but I doubt it will reach that point for at lea...
The gripes with PS4 are very minor and basic functions but the two big ones for me are like the author said, controller battery life and external media playback. With the controller they need to make some kind of function to turn the light bar off when it's not being used. It's only wasting power most of the time. With external media playback, this is a very simple yet crucial feature. I have a portable 2 TB HDD full of classic movies and there is no reason why I can't use it with...
Maybe it's just my taste but I didn't think BioShock Infinite was all that good. It was certainly interesting but I can name quite a few games that I thought were better off the top of my head such as FarCry 3, Dishonored, Metro, and Tomb Raider.
Once again people and the media are overreacting about launch games. Strong new IP's take time to develop. It's much quicker and safer to bring an existing series to a new platform to meet the launch deadline. Even Drive Club and Watch Dogs, two new IP's that were slated for launch had to be delayed. People are just so impatient.
I wish Call Of Duty would go back to the world War 2 settings. World at War is still my favorite in the franchise.
lol, that would be hilarious. You'll never hear the end of it.
Well said. The only thing I'd like to add is this...
"Mobility represents a convenience that console does not yet posses. that being its games are playable anywhere anytime by virtually anybody and on something that person may already have."
That one weakness that consoles have may be coming to an end sooner than you think thanks to Gaikai. Looking at what Sony is doing with remote play with it's Vita is addressing just that. Now not only ca...
Obviously there's nothing I can say that would change your mind as you feel strongly about your argument and I do respect that. At times I can be a PS fanboy and I won't deny that, but when it comes to the Kinect I'm dead serious. I know some of the things may sound absurd and ridiculous but never underestimate the evil in this world. It never sleeps and even preys on the things you take for granted. Yes, even sitting down with your family half naked eating cornflakes can be usefu...
Never would have taken Pachter for a Rocket scientist.
