The PS3 was selling at a $200 loss right from the start. It also did not get a price reduction until more than a year after launch, which was simply because they could. Certain hardware had become cheaper to source, hence a drop in price to consumers also. It is unlikely they based their pricing solely on how well they were doing compared to the 360. They adjust the price as they are able, so as to maximize sales. More hardware sales = more software sales.

It will have to change eventually. It is a simple matter of inflation. $399 when the PS4 came out is equal to $450 now. $399 when the PS3 launched is equal to $510 now. Unless you want to start getting new consoles that are no more powerful than the PS1, which will be inevitable if you want prices to stay at $399 forever. When the PS5 launches at the end of 2020, $399 will probably be $475+. It is extremely naive to think consoles can stay at that price forever. $499 is pretty much guaranteed...
The first chapter is on 2 disks. When they said it would be the length of a Final Fantasy XIII game, they just meant for the main story, not the overall amount of content. Midgar will likely be larger than the entire FFXIII map.
Investment fraud and breach of contract. As they only recieved around 6m from the Kickstarter, all it will take is 1 person getting a lawyer to send them a letter saying they are being sued for 10m+, and they will back down real fast.

Only thing i am worried about currently is they may be ditching the overworld and just having you jump automatically through each major story area. IMO that would completely kill the game.
Also it would have been neat to have 3 ATB bars instead of 2, and have them function dynamically based on what you do with them. Ex: Split summons into 3 power tiers, then have Items and level 1 summons use 1 bar, magic, level 2 summons and basic skills using 2, and level 3 summons & ...
The first part is on 2 Blu-rays, presumably dual-layers. Do you really expect them to cost less than full price? Be realistic. This is not even close to a 1:1 remake. The amount of new content being added is astronomical.

Yeah, unfortunately. They have already said there is atleast 1, possibly 2 other major new open world IPs to be announced after Starfield, and before TES6. It will likely be 2025 or later for any new info about TES6.
Hopefully in that time they will atleast change their minds about continuing to use the Cretaceous engine.
Far as i am aware, Kojima Productions is a privately held company, and Kojima has said before he is adamant on staying independant this time around. They will likely maintain a strong relationship with Sony, but there will be no sale.
The Original Sin games sold better due to better marketing. Both Divine Divinity and Divinity 2: Developers Cut have "Very positive" overall reviews on Steam. They just were more niche games than the Original Sin spinoffs. You would be amazed how many Original Sin fans still do not even know the existance of the mainline Divinity games. If they made Divinity 3 and advertised it as much as they have for the Original Sin games, it would likely do very well.
I wish. Seems they have abandoned the mainline Divinity games for this strategy stuff though. Probably will not ever see another one.

Yes, i understand that. Flops are still the most meaningful measurment of overall capabilities though. You will not see a substantial gain from the CPU, above what is provided by the GPU. Even if consoles used high end desktop grade chips, the most powerful standalone CPU on the market atm is around 600-700 Gflops. The PS4s CPU is around 90 Gflops.
