A jump equal to what we got going from the PS2 to PS3 would require the PS5 to be ~39.6TF. Unless you want a $50,000 console that is the size of a refrigerator, not going to happen.
Not even close. Moore's law ended years ago. The gains from gen to gen, even among PCs is very small and getting smaller. @14TF which is the upper end of what we can expect from the PS5, it will be ~3.5x the power of the PS4 Pro. The jump from the PS3 to original PS4 was ~8x.
Unless we see some breakthrough in computing tech that is actually viable for gaming, the gains from gen to gen from now on will remain at roughly 7-8x (3-4x if we keep getting mid gen refreshes). ...
Arcanine. Giant fire breathing doggo, what more needs be said.

Video showed the game loading ~10x faster than the PS4 Pro, PS4 Pro HDD has a max read speed of ~150MB/s. That puts the PS5 at ~1500MB/s. There are already M.2 SSDs for PC that run upwards of 3500MB/s read, 2500MB/s write. Nothing shown in this video comes close to implying it will be faster than current M.2s.
Looks like one remake and possibly one reboot.
Traditionally yes. It has been hit or miss since the PS4/Xbox One launched though. Major publishers have become quite a bit more greedy this console gen and it has passed to PC gaming also. Squeenix especially has been pricing things very high and keeping prices high for a long time.
Prefer the Advent Children look, but have nothing against the new look either. The shrunken one has a disproportionate almost cartoon loli look. It is completely unnatural.
Cornhole doing the hellicopter on the bed, trying to get it on with Tifa, then Tifa threatening to rip them off. Wonder how they will handle that scene with modern visuals and voice acting.
The thing is, if you wipe your memories, would you remember that you want to play those games?
@GameBoy:
It has already been officially confirmed that each episode will be its own complete game with its own story, similar to the 3 FFXIII games, or even FFX & X-2. The term "episodic" in relation to FFVIIR is very misleading. It is not actually episodic in the traditional sense.
Their plans for the game are far too large to ever come close to fitting on one disk, hence why they are making it "episodic". This is not just a standard remake like most people were expecting. It is more along the lines of a reboot, and it is massively expanded over the original. We are talking probably 120-150 hours worth of gameplay for all the parts combined, vs 35-40 hours for the original. Each episode is a full game, comparable in size to FFXIII, and with its own complete st...
They had stated early on that it would likely be 3 episodes, with each being a full stand-alone game, and roughly the same size/length of FFXIII. Assuming that is an accurate statement, it should be ~60 hours per episode. It is more a massively expanded reboot rather than a remake. Think FFX/X-2 or the XIII trilogy in format, vs what most people think when they hear "episodic".
By that logic, there is no best. Not everyone likes the same games. There hasn't been a single FF game yet that doesn't have its share of detractors.
There were several downhill moments for the series, 10 being one of them with the linear design. It was just as bad as 13 in that regard. 12 brought the series back up. It is easily in the top 5.
Hopefully they do a complete edition with all content on disk for consoles.
LoD.
FFs IV, V, VI, VIII, IX, X, & XII, & Chrono Trigger. SMRPG but that will never happen.
Nope. October. You missed the release.

Yes.
