Maybe you should play the game first before defending it.

Casual gamers and weekend warriors are gonna think this action button mashing fest is the shit. Its designed specifically for them. In fact I think I remember reading one of the Doctors or other devs saying they want the Call of Duty fans to play their games.

Thats why they're scoring highly. They are appealing to the lowest common denominator, same as CoD. Easy to pick-up, not too much thinking involved, easy on the eye, lots of explosions and over the top action.

Bioware games suck these days.

Bethesda still actually make CRPG's.

I really hate whats become of Bioware recently. Ever since they were purchased by EA the company and its games have really gone down hill. All that pre-order incentive crap and cutting content from the games to release alongside the full release a couple of days later, its bullshit.

Also they're fucking liars. I found that out after spending a year following Mass Effect 2 on their community forums and believing everything the community devs spouted out to us.

I'm sick and tired of the formulaic CoD / MW, linearly scripted combat games these days, so its good to have games like this that offer a more thinking mans / in-depth combat experience.

Really looking forward to this, since I enjoyed Dragon Rising a lot. Though I nearly didn't play it because some of the reviews put me off. I'm glad I did though because aside from the obvious squad A.I problems its a great game.

Duke is past his sell by date.

Its a dumbed down bag o crap if you ask me.

I used to love BioWare and the Doctors, but ever since the studio lost its independence to EA, its very slowly been going down hill games wise. Least their games are still popular enough that its making lots of money for the Doctors.

It wont last...

Definitely ES5: Skyrim and maybe Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Will wait for review on the latter because i'm not sure they'll be able to get the controls intuitive enough.

BioWare can wave goodbye to my money. Their casual appealing action games with minor RPG elements just don't do anything for me these days.

Such a shame to see all that potential go to waste, and turn into a pointless generic sci-fi shooter.

A complete waste and HUGE disappointment.

I wished i'd took note earlier, before purchasing the game when one of the fans on the BioWare boards speculated that Drew Karpyshyn (writer on KOTOR and ME1) had left because he didn't like the direction they were taking ME2. Though the more generic looking art style really
started to sow the hint th...

Problem is with games that are JUST about pure "silly" fun, is that they are waaay past their sell by dates, the experience is very limited. Many of us gamers grew up playing old-school games just for fun. Now that we are older we want something more than pure fun. We want to experience a more diverse set of emotions and experiences.

So yeah pure fun games are a dying breed, and for good reason. The industry will continue to evolve, but there will always be room for...

Same here. There's been a distinct lack of these types of games this generation, mainly because I think a lot of the big reviewers have been marking them down with negative reviews due to their complexity and therefore more prone to having some A.I. issues here and there, which IMO is bullshit, considering the issues games like CoD: Black Ops released with.

Anyway, after nearly not purchasing Dragon Rising because of above said reviews, but then deciding to take the plung...

Yeah, Steam is much better. I wont go near Windows Live.

DA:O on PC was a decent enough game (a little too consolized / casualised for me) just like ME2. BioWare have lost their touch with making real RPG's for true RPG fans these days. These new BioWare games are action / adventure titles with minor RPG elements, so don't fret too much over playing DA2 like its an RPG. Just mash the buttons and go. Simple!

The demo practically plays itself.

Really looking forward to this, but ten hours is still stingy as hell. I hope they got lots more to do 'single player' wise once ive completed the campaign.

Crap article. Waste of a mouse click!

Because "FUN" is a singular emotion, and many of us gamers are not kids any more, we have grown up and require a more diverse landscape of emotions from the games we play. Pure "FUN" no longer holds our attention like it used to do.

Bioware games barely classify as RPG's any more.

They lost my custom with ME2.

Thief 1 and 2 are two of my favourite all time sneak games.

Thief 3: DS was pretty meh though, especially so with its third person mode optional perspective.

So i'll say this blunty and hope a dev is reading. Unless Thief 4 has first person perspective ONLY, like the original games had, then I dont give a crap about this new game. I dont want to see any third person bullshit like Deus Ex: Human Revolution is doing, happening in another one of my all time...

AvP 2010 sucked ass as many of us knew it would. We never wanted that piece of crap. Colonial Marines is the game we've been waiting for since the movie came out. Its about time they talked more about this game. Its becoming the new Duke Nukem. I'll troll sega / gearbox until the end o time if they screw this one over.

Playing it right now, along with RDR. Although I was pretty sceptical about both games, since I am not a huge fan of third person games (I prefer first person views) both games are pretty awesome, and very different to one another.

Each game scratches just the right itch. RDR for some open world exploration and Alan Wake for a really deep, survival horror gameplay and some cool ‘light based’ combat.

I’m really glad I gave it a chance tbh. Once I get my FPS fi...
