this year is getting better and better, diablo 3, gta v hopefully, bioshock infinite, Mass effect 3, and borderlands 2 to name a few that im excited about.

MUCH like liara in ME2. So i think the point of importance of character is moot. dlc gives a side mission for him allowing him to join party. Doesnt mean he wont be in game without it.
I dont like first day dlc that isnt free with new copy, (you know like zaeed), and i might not buy it, depends on whether or not i want more after playing retail.

I thought about switching to PS3 to avoid the disk swapping and I noticed when i rented ME2 that the load times were slower, especially when you want to save.
as someone who plays on insane, the save feature is important to me (DISCLAIMER... ME NOT EVERYONE MOST DONT CARE) so i will end up buying on xbox.

Very possible, that's why I don't use Metacritic. I frequent 5 or 6 gaming sites that tend to rate games the same way I do give or take and read the reviews of those.
But even then you don't know if there's bias because of pay or special treatment, so watching videos and reading the details usually gives me more of an idea about a game rather than the number at the end.
I have both consoles and I only use Xbox Live and Psn to play games online. Thats what the core gamer does..... play GAMES ONLINE.
Xbox Live started the online console and charged in order to use it. PSN said OK came out with PS3 and offered it free.
Now xbox live is trying to add on features to make it superior to PSN to justify $5 bucks a month. But what it is giving us is things we already have and worse versions. such as facebook, twitter, youtube, espn, ...
