Quality content does not always equals sales.
The N64 only sold 32 million units whilst the Gamecube shifted 21 million.
Both had great games, both failed to live up to sales expectations.
Many factors contribute to the commercial success of a console.
I'd say we'll see a PS Vita and/or 3DS Mass Effect spin-off title. I'd buy it!
@ronin4life :
But the MGS HD Collection is coming to the PS Vita. So in fact it is portable.
@dark-hollow; From the article:
'I’ve owned a Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Sega Game Gear, Sega Nomad, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Gameboy Advance SP, DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, PSP, PSP 2000, PSP 3000, and a 3DS. Out of all of these handhelds the PS Vita is already my favorite after a month.'
'If anyone knows Irish history it isn't pretty'
You clearly don't know Irish history then.
Al-Qaeda killed more people in one day on 9/11, than the IRA managed in over 30 years of terrorist acts. Maybe Gamestop should pull out of New York as well, if that's the case.
Statistically your far more likely to get killed on Saturday night in London than you are to get killed by a Nationalist or Loyalist paramilitary in Belfast. ...
There might be hope yet that we'll see a port on the PS Vita at least.
Remember the Resident Evil Portable game announced for PSP at E3 '09. That game probably became either Resident Evil Revelations or a brand new title for the PSV.
Most towns & cities up North and in the South have GameStops. So unfortunately I'd say it'b upwards of a 100.
If they close up in Dublin, I better get my Vita deposit back!
You're forgetting the most important bit! Barry Burton overcame his fear of razors, and shaved off his mo-tache. He then went and made himself a Jill, sorry, ham sandwich.
Guerrilla should have kept the character selection in Killzone 2/3. It enabled gamers to replay every level, using each characters different special abilities. It added a lot of replayability, to the already long campaign mode.
Also the storyline, dialogue & character development were easily the best in the series. Which meant no cringe worthy, unnecessary cus'ing from Rico!
And where the hell did Hakha disappear off to after Killzone Liberation? He...
The feature is already there. But Sony just have to officially activate it on OFW.
Come on Sony, make it happen for the Western launch
Where's Superman 64 and Crazy Frog Racer 2?
'OXM's guide to recognising the symptoms before the rot sets in'
I wouldn't mind but OXM gave Modern Warfare 3 a 9/10 review, a little over 2 months ago......
Another clear indication that reviewers are either paid off by Activision or they are afraid of being Blacklisted by publishers for future game previews, review copies & press events.
All Resident Evil games from 1-4 (excluding Dead Aim of course) were great games in their own right.
Resident Evil 3 was personaly my favourite. Nemesis struck cold fear into me, whenever I used to see his malformed mutanted face! And the clever SOB was the first enemy in the series to follow you through 'loading' doors..
Well then you certainly don't need the next-gen anytime soon, because you've already missed out on half of the great games this generation.
If it is capable of close to DX11 style visuals, then it'll be a day 1. If not then I'll hold out to see what the other 2 have to offer.
This was certainly unexpected!
Gears of War 3 & Uncharted 3 should be here as well. The horde modes, co-op & competitive online keep on pulling me back in for more!
@3GenGames:
So I'm 100% wrong even though I back up my statement with facts? And when did I say Nintendo (feel free to quote me on this) 'made a living solely on software'?
In the 10 years prior to the Wii, Nintendo home consoles sales were to say the least underwhelming, & like SEGA, since the SNES/Genesis heyday, they're console sales were sliding. Unfortunately for SEGA the Dreamcast was the final nail in the coffin for SEGA's cons...
I thought the same, but recent previews of the game have been pretty positive. Here's an extract from IGN's preview from a few days ago:
'As someone who felt the series peaked at Silent Hill 2, my time with Downpour was definitely a positive experience...It hasn't been something I've said in a while now, but Silent Hill is back on my radar.'
KOTOR was a great game last gen.
The Mass Effect games are great games this gen.
I'm a fan of both. And if anything I think Bioware are getting better. Nostalgia and the fact that KOTOR was a great use of the Star Wars license has helped paved over some of it's faults.
If anything EA should be praised for having faith in Bioware & providing the funding to create a whole new IP.
