The PS Vita Wi-Fi can be picked up tonight in Asda for £197. Let me repeat that, £197. For the sheer amount features packed into the device, that price is pretty damn amazing.

Just for reference, the 3DS launched at £220.

I'm guessing down the line there might be a 4G model, that could potentially allow mobile online gaming. That would definitely be worth the extra few quid.

Just in time for ME3.

My lil M11X should handle it no problem!

How about True Crime: Hong Kong 'Sleeping Dogs' live-action trailer?

The ME series does a better job at portraying character driven stories than most films do. The player doesn't feel forced down a boring linear path into going through the motions of saving the world, they damn well do it because you want to save the universe and all it's intriguing characters.

That's the hallmark of a great game.

Mass Effect.

You should never judge the potential commercial success of a console, by looking at it's predecessor.

Case in point: The Gamecube barely managed 20 million lifetime sales, whilst it's successor; the Wii, has sold over 95 million.

The Wii U might be a success, it could flop or perhaps it will fall somewhere in the middle. Either way, it's kinda pointless predicting this early on. Especially when a lot of the details are still hazy.

$50 million for an advertising budget is pretty damn meager when you compare it to the amount other tech companies spend on marketing their products.

Microsoft's Kinect for example had a $500 million marketing campaign, and that was only a peripheral.

Sony is spending 10 times less than that and they are la...

Not necessarily, back in 2008 a friend of mine (who know nothing about games, and only buys a console for FIFAs & GTAs) bought a PS3 because he thought it was the only on Playstation. That was the case with a lot of casual gamers.

I dunno, I wouldn't write it off totally. The Chronicles of Riddick film sucked ass, but the tie-in game was one of the best FPS's on the original Xbox.

But more than likely Battleship the Game will blow!

@Below:

I think the likes of Uncharted, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, Super Mario Galaxy & GTA, beg to differ on the fact that only FPS games sell well.

Me thinks that is the best live-action game trailer ever! Screw the game, I want the film!

Yeah Daxter was a great PSP game,
so hopefully this HD collection will get a Vita release!

'Ubisoft has something fairly unique with I Am Alive. While post-apocalyptic survival is nothing new to games, their focus on survival and resource management makes for a tense, thrilling experience. It's not yet clear how long of an experience I Am Alive is, but it's already looking like a hell of a big game for a $15 XBLA and PSN title. I can't wait to get back in and stress out a bit more.'

Sounds pretty positive!

Sweet, always good to have options, I'd say the 3D will look pretty awesome for the 'rail riding' sequences.

'The name doesn't let me play online for free'

Have you been drinking paint stripper?

'No, I'm just not whining like a puppy pulled from its momma's tit over a name. If you think the name does let you play online for free, ask yourself that question.'

That makes no sense. SEN (formerly PSN) has always been a free to play online service.

Onlive at the moment can be played with a connection as low as 1.5mbps, whilst a 5mbps is recommended for full HD gaming.

South Korea has an AVERAGE connection speed of 13.8mbps, whilst even a country such as Romania (which has a relatively low GDP) has an average connection speed of 6.8mbps. Broadband infrastructures are continually expanding & improving worldwide every day.

20-30 years is wildly inaccurate. Maybe in Mali or Somalia, but certainly not in...

@Tony P:

You do realize that EA bought Bioware before the release of both Mass Effect & Dragon Age?

Of course they saw dollar signs, companies don't tend to last too long when they set out to lose money! Do you think the likes of Valve or Bethesda would still be making games today if they didn't turn over a profit?

But rather than handing Bioware an established franchise, EA provided them with the cash to create not one but two b...

Maybe, maybe not.

Cloud gaming is still in it's infancy, so that might render current hardware obsolete once broadband infrastructures worldwide catch up.

Who could have predicted modern day smartphones 10 years ago, back when phones barely had polyphonic ringtones? It will be nearly a decade away. So making predictions in technology that far down the line is kinda pointless.

In the innocent time before video-games no child ever died in war or conflict. Sure the Roman Colosseum, World Wars, Killing Fields, Gulags & Rwandan Genocide are nowhere as near traumatizing as seeing a bunch of pixels on a screen. Dern, video-games is corrupting peoples minds. Herpa derp.
