The PSP got off to a similarly slow start in Japan, and now it has sold more than 70 million units worldwide. Hell it was the best selling console in Japan in 2010 (outselling the Wii,DS & PS3) 6 years after it's original launch.
People should just give it time, and at least wait for the Western release before writing these doom & gloom articles!
Even yesterday the Japanese magazine Nikkei Trendy reported that an exclusive PS Vita Monster Hunter s...
Amnesia The Dark Descent which is said by many to be the scariest game of all-time, begs to differ.
LeShin obviously didn't read all of the preview:
'As someone who felt the series peaked at Silent Hill 2, my time with Downpour was definitely a positive experience...It hasn't been something I've said in a while now, but Silent Hill is back on my radar.'
Sony don't announce their consoles at E3 anymore, both the PS3 & PS Vita were revealed at special Playstation Meetings in Tokyo. And I'm sure the PS4 will follow suit.
Having Homefront as the 3rd best game in 2011, renders this list invalid.
And the non-inclusion of the likes of Skyrim, Portal 2 & Batman Arkham City is just a pathetic attempt to fish for site hits.
Both the PSP & the DS sold far better in the long run, than what their launches indicated.
Hell the PSP was the best selling console (that includes the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 & the DS) in Japan in 2010; a total of six years after it's original launch.
@ExpectTheUnexpected:
The PSP sold more 70 million units worldwide, and it was the best selling console in Japan in 2010 (outselling the Wii, PS3 & DS).
Would you consider the Xbox 360 a failure because it has 'only' sold 60 million consoles?
You obviously never heard of his notorious Oirish accent in P.S I Love You!
Medievil Resurrection 2 on the PS Vita would be amazing. Come on Sony Cambridge & make it happen!
I'm guessing Star Wars Battlefront 3, developed by Crytek UK
Doesn't Obama not have bodyguards or personnel to do this sort of stuff. Why would he run such a random errand in person?
Is Obama on Ninty's payroll?
As long as it's been fixed & working for the Euro/US launch on the 22nd Feb, I couldn't really give a damn!
As a massive MGS fan, I'm torn on whether to pick up a cheap 3DS & get MGS 3D or wait it out for the PS Vita Wi-fi & the MGS HD Collection....
Bioshock Infinite isn't a sequel per se.
It is more like a spiritual sequel,
as was Bioshock the spiritual sequel to System Shock 2.
I predict a slew of box jokes,
and subsequent bubbling down.....
Reminds me of Silent Hill, with the fixed camera angles & player movement, hell even the in-game map is similar!
'Bend Studio is an American video game developer located in Bend, Oregon. It was founded in 1994 as Eidetic and was purchased by Sony Computer Entertainment America in 2000.'
Sony Bend's technical directors (aka the guys who call the shots) are still the same guys that set up Eidetic back in 1994.
@RastafariPrime:
One of Bethesda's first games was Wayne Gretzky Hockey on the NES. Never played it, but here's a very unflattering review
'The audio, visuals, and gameplay are all bad and there's not one redeeming thing about this cartridge. Even fans of The Great One wouldn't have the patience to sit through this. Better stick with Blades of Steel for your NES hockey fix; this cart should just be used as a hockey puck. '
'We had new announcements in the form of new ‘post-apocaliptic’ zombie survival type games (sigh), and new footage of some upcoming games that look either very promising (Bioshock Infinite, Hitman Absolution)'
So according to OXCGN, The Last of Us, the brand new IP by one of the best developers in the industry ,is unoriginal, whilst 2 sequels to franchises (Hitman Absolution is the 5th in the series!) are fresh & promising. Anyone else see the irony?
Prior to the Wii, Nintendo was seriously struggling as a home console hardware developer.
The N64 only sold 35 million consoles, whilst it's successor the Gamecube barely scraped 20 million. To put that into perspective, they're combined sales is 5 million less than Sony's lowest selling console; the PS3.
Just look at SEGA, in the early to mid nineties Sonic was the most recognisable mascot in gaming, and the Mega Drive (Genesis) was a massive com...
