Sales wise, it did flop
Only for PC so far
It's for a niche market so it could actually work out. For example, Richard Burns Rally, rFactor and Live For Speed met huge success on the PC
TBH, the beta is closed (not open) so it's kind of understandable this whole thing
I'm sure that one of the reasons why this is PC exclusive, is because of this whole unique development procedure. Something like this could not be possible on consoles.
While I don't like the concept of online passes, I see why they're doing it
You should check the ArmA series then, as it's the spiritual successor to Operation Flashpoint 1 ;)
Yeap, looks really awesome. Definitely a game for a niche market but that's why we love Bohemia, right? :D
If you don't like the high contrast, disable both BlackFire and Quality mod from the configuration file. There, problem solved (and you can keep all those higher-res textures)
Hopefully it will get released next year and not in 2013. Well... I hope so...
True.dat. Dead Island Helper tool is essential to pretty much everyone who wants to enjoy Dead Island
And dynamic lighting with a great/atmospheric TOD. Some post-process effects are good but I'd take any day better textures + parallax occlusion mapping than those gimmick and annoying effects
Yeap, that's what I'm planning to do too :D
Precisely that. This is why games should be 'friendly' to mods
Disagree on that Theo1130. That depends on your vRAM and not on how powerful your GPU is. My GTX295 in Single GPU mode can handle the 8192 custom config file with constant 60fps (in Single GPU mode, the GTX295 'behaves' like a GTX275 with 896 vRAM)
Yeap, a GTX275 can max the game. Just make sure to use a custom rageconfig file till the patch is out ;)
Don't think so. Red Orchestra 2 is addressed to a niche market. As long as they fix its issues, there will be people playing it
Gotta say that I was also disappointed with GT5
Are they hinting at Mirror's Edge 2?
The PC version had mainly technical issues. From what I've heard, AMD has still some driver issues. Nvidia's cards run the game fine, though there isn't any SLI profile for it as of yet.
