True.dat. I really hope that the modding community of RAGE will be as strong as Doom 3's. Imagine what modders could achieve with iD Tech 5
It's puzzling me. Although those are some nice PhysX effects, they are basically the same effects we got all those years.
Definitely, lol :D
Those are basically the minimum requirements. Really curious to see what it will need to run in 3D with PhysX enabled
Tripwire is still fixing Red Orchestra 2, this expansion is from a modding team ;)
The jets is my most anticipated feature of Battlefield 3. Simply cannot wait.
This is a double-edged sword. On one hand PC gamers will actually see how the game performs. On the other hand however, this is not the best way to test your hardware (as, let's face it, it's illegal).
It would be great if DICE could have released a demo, but doubt that will ever happen. Actually, since the beta was open to everyone, we can assume that the final will run identical to the beta
I'd wish that was the case. I truly am. However the retail version was indeed leaked and the SP is already playable :/
Hopefully someone will, though it might be a pain in the ass with how megatexture works
You honestly believe that the artists of iD will sit down and re-create all those textures (or even re-touch them via Photoshop) when the actual source textures are as detailed as the ones we already have?
PS: Keep in mind that they won't get paid for such thing so I really doubt that iD will waste their time with such attempts. This is a company and not a modder that does such things in his free time
vulcanproject nailed it. Thumbs up
They sure say that they have higher but the best thing to do is to simply put them side by side. For example, if you didn't know the 'namely' polygon count, which cars would you think looked better?
Notice the round wheels for example in C.A.R.S and the attention to detail. In fact, everything looks so smooth and 'round-ish'
As vulcan said, no noticeable performance hit. MaLDo has also optimized some scenes with better tessellation effects that run smoother than before
Definitely going to play hardcore
While this is true, most PC racing sims were not as impressive as C.A.R.S seems to be. Take for example Live For Speed, iRacing or rFactor. Although they are far better sims than GT5/Forza 4, they are not as graphically impressive as those two.
PCs are more powerful but we haven't seen anyone taking advantage of them. Slightly Mad Studios are currently the only ones that offer this image fidelity on a PC exclusive racer.
What Letros said. It's a pretty clever model, though we'll have to wait and see if it actually works out
I'm sure that games can look even better. Better shading effects, better lighting, more complex environments, full destructibility, etc. We are currently on good track but graphics can get better. Can't wait to see what the next-generation consoles will offer!
It's quite different for a simple game - let's say "My Grandma's Horse" - and a game that will be one of the GOTY contenders.
You'd expect to see companies implementing ways to prevent it, pretty much as they've done on the PC - especially when a game uses Steamworks.
Also - and contrary to pretty much other leaks - the PS3 hasn't been leaked yet and is safe for the time being
Totally agree with you wallis
Crashing time? :P
