My expectations for this game are probably too high as an avid RPG fan coming off skyrim. This appeared to be a great start until I noticed that ff13-2 got a 9.5. I haven't seen any reviews that high for or. Hopefully its a preference issue but ill take it as a good start.
This is the first list I've seen that nails my top 3. When i got down to 5, i thought amalur was out, but you made it right. Nothing tops biishock, as I trust Levine more than anyone and a new environment to offer...wow. Ajax amalur slightly ahead of mass effect simply because I fear that the RPG elements are going to b the very minimum to keep the fanbase happy. Coming off skyrim, nothing makes me happier then delving into not just another huge RPG, but a new IP with proven roots. 3 wee...
Dead space 2 was kinda hard, but mainly because of my time restraints. How could i possibly find stretches of 6+ hours to do this? To me, because of where my strengths lie, it is killzone 2 on elite & arkham asylumns challenge rooms. Though, i haven't finished arkham city yet. I imagine demon souls and dark souls were a bitch too. The majority are difficult because of time and boredom.
No. They could do what I have always wanted. Use their strengths but implement some bioware strengths by hiring, and developing a great narrative driven by the story. You keep the openworld, hero aspect but travel accross tamriel. Ifnot next, after that, as a wrap up. It will b next Gen sp the world could b 3x as big. Have 5 acts that culminate with the moving to another area. Always with the ability to return. Maybe in a way the modern final fantasies should b doing...because they started it...
The irony of this game is that rpg fans will love it. It is the first mmo that really feels like a single player RPG. But, mmorpg fans have become so accustomed to the wow model that anything different is wrong. Even though mmorpgs began as rpgs. Astor does have many similarities to wow, as any sane company would do. And it gives the player the ability to raid, to loot and to become powerful. But now, it gives u a reason to do these things. And which doesn't want to become the most bad as...
If it were his skin color, why would it stop with him? Wouldn't it continue until only whites were allowed on here. So many saw the last election as a testimony or evidence that leaps and bounds have been made racially. Unfortunately, IMO, its only given certain groups the power to use the race card unabated for political reasons etc. Its a mockery and a shame for those that have worked tirelessly and given their lives, mostbehind the scenes and in the dark to make things right, not becom...
This article doesn't surprise me. It's the new world we live in. Maybe he feels bad that like all of us he plays games too much and this is his little contribution. Yesterday someone blamed bioware for torture on star wars, a game that goes out of the way to limit bad cutscenes. Anyway, what did he think sith do? What did this guy expect in a game w the dark brotherhood, daedric lords, and cannibals. And I hate to break it to him but just because a guy can sleep around doesn't mak...
Wow, wow, wow. Two days in a row, an illogical gamer attacks a gaming company as savior of the new new age cult our societies have turned into. First, this isn't a reflection of Bethesda as I was also only given the option to be a cannibal or leave. And it gave u the option to leave and u chose to help her so drop the sanctimonious act. Third, u didn't shame her because she felt like a whore but because she was worried her religion would be exposed. Also, I have never understood how w...
Actually, that's brilliant. Not another fps but either an action game or an action/rpg. I did read somewhere that me3 is gonna have different settings for heavy rpg/ hybrid/ just story or action. I would love it if they went heavy on the rpg again but allowed others to turn it off or streamline it. It makes everyone happy without screwing the hardcore fanbase. I so want this to b the best one but if it's all story and action that's fast paced, I have a feeling that I'll like i...
For me on the heels of skyrim, it's definitely kingdoms of Amalur. I have a feeling that it will b talked about after it releases but with skyrim and swtor, I hope ppl give it a chance. That and I hope I'm done with skyrim. But, if u are an rpg fan, name a time that u had a lineup that included skyrim, swtor, kingdoms of Amalur, mass effect 3 all in 5 months. I wish I had a rig to play swtor but then I would need time. Oh and iron wolf, the next cod installment. I don't think it&...
R u kidding me? It figures you would find this article in the huffimgton post. It doesn't surprise me a bit. Why write about the immoral actions of politicians robbing money from future citizens, or debating about whether we shod tax successful ppl 70% or 80% of their earnings to allow a gigantic government to continue reckless spending for another 6 months. Maybe an article about how 100% of the wealthy's money wouldn't fund our government for a year. No, lets talk about a game c...
Yep the witcher 2 Is the other rpg I can't wait for. But I am pretty confident from everything that I have seen that KoA is going to be really, really good. We either get risen and two worlds (not that tw2 didn't hav a phenomenal magic system) or we get skyrim & witcher. I believe this game is of the latter vein. I cannot see how rolston would attach himself to anything less than stellar. He was behind the game design for morrowind and oblivion. I like the action aspect a lot, a...
I'll admit I haven't been this amped about a game since...oh yeah, the one I'm playing now, skyrim. But, I am amped that these two games provide a one two punch for an avid rpg fan that I haven't experienced maybe ever. Also it helps quell my disappointment in regards to swtor, because I don't hav a of to run it & really wanna play it. 4 more weeks and counting.
Great article. I began by attempting to finish everything in white run. It brought me other places but then back. I am a Mage so I moved on to winter hold. I do simply explore whenever I can but eventually u get a backlog of quests and arrow time begins. Whenever I finish everything I move on to the next city to see what it offers. I also find that I need particular armor and a particular follower for each endeavor. After awhile though, I maxed my initial skillset and moved on to another in o...
There was one way to make this successful; well two actually. First though is to recognize ur competition. When u launch a portable device of this size for this price u have to realize what it is that ppl are going to make comparisons to before they make a purchase. In this case it is the tablet market. If a gamer has a choice they most likely will chose an iPad or something similar because of the number of things it can do. And it has games. But if Sony created a portable machine that ran a...
Wow...crazy comments. When speaking truth, u have to include it. I have logged 200 hrs into skyrim and have much left to do. In that time, i have had minor issues with the game; what i would call similar to every game I've played this year. Yes, i know ps3 has had some serious issues, but i was able to avoid them. I bought it for Xbox. I play almost everything on ps3, but we all knew coming in that the issue was memory, which is extremely difficult to fix. This game is Onondaga disc on xb...
Unlike many of my friends, I loved la Noire. I platinumed it and played all dlc to completion. Like uncharted, its over too quickly. I love story telling and la Noire delivered. The problem, which is also a reason it was so great, is that it teamed up with rockstar, using their engine and produsing a final product that bored many similarities to gta. Unfortunately for most (not me), it wasn't gta or rdr. The open world nature was almost mirage-like & combat didn't exist unless it ...
I have never looked so forward to quarter 1 of a new year in regards to gaming. Coming off one of the greatest fall/winters in gaming history, i had to put some great games on the backshelf. Needless to say, my 2012 begins where it ended...non-stop skyrim adventuring. It is then on to Batman, which would never have been sitting in the corner if it were not for one dragonborn. But, i am extremely excited for a release in February; A little title going by Kingdoms of Amalur. Its going to b a p...
You put it perfectly. Was there really any doubt? In a year of so many great titles, many of which could have been my goty in a different year, skyrim stands head and shoulders above the rest. Maybe if it had gone head to head w bioshock infinite, mass effect 3, or kingdoms of amalur, it may have been tougher. The truth is that when a game of skyrims size, quality, and freedom is released, other games, despite their polish, cannot stand up. Batman, uncharted, gears, and battlefield sit on my...
So, if u play this demo, it will unlock items in kingdoms of amalur a week after its release also? Just curious. The pre order and the demo itself give you like 10/12 items already.
After reading game informers article on mass effect 3 today, it is now a tie between that and bioshock, slight edge to me3 because its real now. Supposedly it isn't simple corridor fighting anymore. They are smarter, shit doors on you etc. Also, the environment is more in the uncharted vein w ...
