I dont understand how this game doesn't work after a full year's delay. Meanwhile the competition has released 2 racing games in the space of a year, with good online functionality, and better reviews.
Was it funding? Lack of proper network infrastructure? I mean messaging on PS4 is seriously slow at the moment. I am so dissapointed that this game still doesn't work properly online. This will kill the community for this game.
I am not saying it's not important nor am I saying it shouldn't be covered by the main stream. What I'm saying is that complete coverage is needed on both sides. And yes there are much bigger issues that needs coverage that never gets it. Many of these people are using this to propel their images and careers and getting sympathy for their career mistakes.
Death threats are condemned everywhere and no one agrees with it... On either side.
Yet it can run pretty much most games in 1080p? Why not Unity?
I guess it's because they "wanted to avoid debates and stuff"
Clearly that alone should say enough... It was a decision not a limitation.
So far the PS4 has been bullet proof though.
Sony doesnt need to react unless they think this will close the gap further.
If MS takes a month, Sony will no doubt regain the lead in Jan/Feb, and that't just the US.
Europe and Japan will remain PlayStation.
How that's for a 180... million or so?
The death threats were all condemned. Just like any other threats with any other issues. No one approves of this behaviour, and to be honest, there are way bigger world issues out there than gaming journalism.
The #GamerGate tag came as a result of journalism etchics. NOT about women in gaming. It was twisted to confuse the readers and people looking for information.
I bet the BBC won't interview anyone or look at the journalism side?
How is this different from buying map packs for £14.99?
This is the Activision model. Is anyone surprised?
Count on Kotaku to take something positive from Sony and say its surprising that it works.
Sony has yet to move agressively in the market and is still outpacing the X1. This shows not only confidence, but market dominance.
If MS takes the lead, I predict its only one month with the MCC. Yes there's more content and marketing deals between Ubi games and MS. However, look at the state of things now with Madden and other multi plats.
@lifeisgamesok
Sony is getting sales because they made a superior console, marketed to gamers, launched at a cheaper price. No hype there, just facts.
MS dug its own grave with the original X1 policies, the reversals, and is still climbing out of it. What through first party game has MS released except 2 Forzas in the same year? Bought 3rd party games is not sustainable long term. MS invented the whole content first, exclusive content on one console, etc ...
Xbox only owners... Welcome to Insomniac.
Enjoy :)
@shloobmm3
Although Gears looked amazing, up close the graphics were choppy. Things like draw distance, textures etc were not that great upon close inspection.
Also there was no major leap between the Gears games that I could see. But when you look at UC 1 compared to 2, then TLOU, the differences are vast.
Thats just my opinion.
@ Future 2015...
Hmmm... It still looked great though, and had amazing gameplay. That's the point.
Is she going Rouge due to the lack of Unity?
:)
Free TitanFall couldn't do it.
Dropping Kinect couldn't do it.
Lowering the price couldn't do it
Reversing everything STILL didn't do it.
Will a free game do it? Let's wait for the NPDs.
MS has a good chance to take a few months this holiday season with the games you mentioned, but also the UK price cut.
However don't forget that Sony has some big guns in Feb and the rest of the year. If MS doesn't take a month with the MCC, then I'm afraid it won't take any until probably Halo 5.
It doesn't matter... Give people the full experience.
How does your comment make any sense?
At the end of each trailer for AC it says " "on X1 starts at $399". This is the real reason, marketing. They had no issue making the former games look better on 360, when it was harder to program on PS3.
The original quote shows that the X1 bottleneck is holding back the PS4 version. No incentive due to the marketing deal.
I hope Evolution doesnt suffer as a result of this. Bring back MotorStorm and leave the racing sims making to Polyphony.
