This is the longest period from launch to the announcement of a price drop for any playstation system. This shows the strength of demand for the PS4. Trends are down across the industry when compared to last year.
It's about keeping up with the competition and offering value while cost of production drops.
MS will be at $299 by mid next year, and no doubt they are the first to offer a slim version too.

Is that what MS did with the 360 last Gen? they basically invented the exclusive marketing, exclusive content and content first deals to push the 360.

I am sure although it is marketed as an MMO, there will be content that can be played single player, but require an online connection. I hope I am wrong here. Being an MMO is not an excuse for such design decisions. Fully understand the concept for such games, but building in online, i.e. requring a connection and not being able to play by yourself is a slippery slope.
You are missing the point completely. Where did anyone suggest that games can't have online or variety? Is where you have to be connected for even single player content, or claims that you can't play offline when you clearly can.
Ubisoft do not have the greatest track record for online services. Imaging buying the game and not being able to play it? Or the services being taken down in the future? This has nothing to do with not supporting this vision. Its about play...

Not sure if this is directed at me. However, you may be fine with your purchase not being available to play when you want, or how you want because of it's online implementation. The question wasn't whether to buy the game or not, it was WHY is this the trend? Servers are unreliable, so online should be AN OPTION rather than compulsory.

Why is online being forced into so many games. Do we have a choice to play offline only and still get a good story experience?
So they rated the last gen versions much higher, yet this upscaled and improved compilation gets lower? UC without multi-player is great already. People buy it for the narrative. Not sure how this deducts a point. Umm... Walls and no aim assist? In a linear story driven third person game? What has this reviewer been playing?

If another game is added then this thing would be even more a serious value. $349 plus a game is essentially $299. Another game would be $249, which is what it was last Xmas.

Yes exactly. I forgot about the camera. A lot of add ons to make the whole thing work. I am not complianing as I have these and the price doesn't matter much. I think it won't be main stream for a long time though.
I have the original move controller... somewhere in storage. Just wondering about overall cost and how it will be marketed as people will need a PS4, 2 move controllers and the VR headset. I am picking this us for sure. Very exited by it.

Yeah the MGS PS4 is awesome. I picked one up at launch. I do wish there was some Shinkawa artwork on it though.
