It will be one game... this one game can run on both systems which will perform either like the PS4 currently or higher with the PS4k. Just like a PC. By all accounts all PS4 games will work on both systems. Also the general public and casuals... the majority of the console market... does not follow the industry or read anything gaming related. They don't know what PAX and E3 are etc. Build it and they will come
You raise some good points here. But the fact remains MS stopped taking about sales when they started to lose NPDS. Before this they really did focus on it. The US and UK are key markets for them. If they cant compete here long term then the console side of MS could die. Yes it's a change in direction, i.e focusing on thr ecosystem but what's driving this seems to be the lack of competitiveness on the console front. Active users are hours played is not a measure that's sustainable...

Struggling to see any logic in this comment. Firstly, the advertising deals, exclusive marketing and timed content models were started and led by MS last gen... especially with COD, GTA and other major third party franchises. MS invented this marketing abomination seen in the industry today, and were very successful in doing do. Sony is now following suit.

If they can't relaunch the system well with the incoming revision/slim, then I don't think there is anything left they can do to "win" the US. Which is their most relevant market. Maybe they can lead in a few months in the year, but Sony will still dominate and...

Looks great.. wish there was a gameplay trailer... but maybe in the full trailer we'll see this. Seems like they are going for a more compelling story, which was what I always wanted for this series.
I know right? Ridiculous. Games are released year round on the PlayStation. It's MS that cram all games into the holidays, which ends up cannibalising each other and also gets cannibalised from third parties. Kind of silly. Games are needed throughout the year. I have just listed all of Sony releases not on other consoles up to June... and it's ALOT!

It's because this sentiment are from largely US developers... Europe and the rest of the world will no doubt show a different opinion. Sony's WW dominance and relevance will always outweigh that of MS's consoles.

Though VG Chartz is known to be completely inaccurate, it is also known to largely and consistently understate playstation worldwide numbers. Both PS3 and PS4 numbers were and are constantly adjusted up when offical numbers get released from Sony. From MS there are no offical numbers this gen to adjust accurately.

Once the games work on both versions of the system then what;s the harm? Hoe may traded in their playstations and 360s for the new better looking hardware? the older hardware received a price cut while the newer was the higher price.

Rather than going into list wars, it pretty much fact that Sony has more first party studios than any other console manufacturer. They have also released more games exclusively on playstation that the competition. They may not be first party but they can only be played on playstation. That's not even counting Indies. Also, their releases are spread out nicely over the year and in most cases they own the IP
