A lot of American brands do well in Japan... For instance Apple. Xbox's launch in Japan was a fumble from the beginning and they never really made any ground ever since... Even with some good JRPGs with in the few few years of the 360. PlayStation and Nintendo are what people see as gaming. In Europe PlayStation outsells Xbox about 4:1. That is some margin.

Ubisoft needs to start showing console game play from inception of the game. Not high end PC. They continue to do this unil a few months before launch. PS4 footage had been purposely kept underwraps given its marketed for XBOXONE. Despite this marketing deal the PS4 is still the lead platform as the engine runs enter.

Well said. It's ridiculous. Most pple like this never even play games!

A game is sexist once any female flesh is shown but it not so for males. There are many strong women in games. Many independent and Co videvtalky female protagonist... just like films. Games like comics are fantasy. People also forget there's an an age rating

Playstation has always outsold Xbox in Europe. The UK excluded of course. This is how the PS3 surpassed 80 million and came close to WW 360 sales, despite coming a year later and being €150 more expensive at launch.

MS only had more "system selling" games over the holidays. The 8 months of 2015 there wasnt much except multiplats and Indies. Sony had games all year up to August and many highly rated Indies. Multiplats and partnership drove sales plus the value prop...

This ratio is replicated across Europe, with only exception being the UK. This 5:1 gap is where the 36 million WW PS4 numbers are coming from. We know the state in Japan for XB1.

Nier Automata gameplay looks really good. Fast paced action RPG. I'm picking this up as well as Fire Watch and Drawn to Death. So many games this year!

I think if the NX fails then Nintendo will leave the console market, and remain in handhelds. Are they too proud to be just a developer though. Imagine 5 games from Nintendo each year across all platforms? Amiibo sales will continue to do well I think.

I think the 360 line up in 2007 was the best in the history of Xbox. Just my opinion though. the marketing push did nothing worldwide for them or anything in Europe. More surprising is TR in Europe, once a mainstay franchise, b...

I was say overlooked rather than under rated. The game is very highly rated among critics and players. I loved it.

However, it under performed and in my opinion deserved to at least do better than the TR reboot. MS/Square chose a poor release date, plus the game was not marketed much at all. This is squarely at MS and Square with the deal they made for marketing and timed exclusiveness. Imagine this as a Jan release? But the "holiday exclusive" tag line kept it out...

In 2015 MS claimed to have "the greatest games line up in Xbox history". A main line Halo, timed Tomb Raider, Forza, and a Gears Remaster. Some good games all round. However, this still couldn't stop the PS4 in the US, with it outselling the XBox One in 10 out of 12 months. Not only that but the gap actually increased in 2015, with the PS4 price parity coming late in the year. Keep in mind this is MS strongest market. The same company that quoted NPD each month last gen, fueling...

There is a external processing unit that offloads some of the work, and picks up some slack from the PS4. Also, PSVR is a mid ranged VR device. Though it does look and feel premium, the games will not be as impressive looking as the rift. However, by all accounts still very good.

I am hoping for $399. I think there will be a bundle though with the PS camera and move controllers for $499, with a few games and demos.

I think anything above $400 would be a hard sell. Imagine being $200 cheaper than the competition ans ready to plug and play. A big advantage I think. I can see Sony trying a $499 launch as standard though. Time to turn on my camera and dig out the old move controller.

Alot of games on PS4 this year. And console exclusives too. Not forgetting a raft of Indies

A slam dunk to end the year. 2016 will be a slaughter and it won't be the PS4s blood that will be spilt.

A good show yes. It made my blood boil watching it.

This debate is getting tired. Fact is this... PS4 has more games on it's platform that XB1. It also has higher rated games. Regardless of these being Indie or triple A. Some seem to only count Indie games when it suits.. such as game release outwith the fall for line up padding.

Until Dawn, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Tearaway Unfolded and Rapture all came out in the last 6 months of 2015. Yet because MS had some of its mainline games over 2 months somehow makes up fo...

One of the best games of last gen IMO, and will remain one of the best ever.

If a Game is rated for Teens, or 18 then it should only be played by that that age group. Judge it by the same standards in other entertainment media.

Games are often ridiculed for showing too much skin, when you can go on any social media network, website and magazine and see real people reveal a lot more. This is also free and easy to do. Yet games you have to buy and there's an age rating.
