Yeah it sucks when things get pushed back, but Sony refers to fiscal years when they talk about release dates. If they say something like, "It's coming out in '09," they are usually refering to their fiscal year which ends in March. It's kind of bullshit, but it is what it is.
Looks like somebody can't read. It says "Best Software Lineup", not "Best Press Conference".
The sad thing is, that even if you buy a pre-built computer, you can easily play a lot of games with decent settings. I know mine can play ME out of the box. The only thing I'll need to upgrade is the graphics card and by the time I do that, the good cards now will be cheap.
I wonder how long before this blows up and people start crying about either bias or hypocrisy.
@ ARBitrator: If I'm a fanboy, then I'd like to introduce you to a friend of mine, his name is Mr. Kettle. I have never once claimed to be "neutral", I have my preferences and I don't pretend to be a fan of anything I'm not. I don't troll 360 articles all day, every day so I fail to see your logic. Oops, I forgot, you don't understand logic, it's too advanced for you. Also, I am basing my comments on further clarification provided by Sony spokespeople when responding to the PSP Go's...
The only time the PS3 controller sucks for shooters is when the L2 and R2 triggers are used instead of L1 and R1. That is the only time I have ever noticed how slippery the triggers are.
And that's exactly why it isn't overpriced. Everyone on this site and in the industry is looking at the PSP Go in the wrong way. It isn't meant to be a replacement for people that already have a PSP, but a way in to the Ipod Touch market. A 16GB Ipod Touch is $299, that's why the PSP Go is $249. The whole point is that it will sell at that price so why not make as much profit as possible and hopefully use that money to offset any losses to a PS3 price cut.
But doesn't this mean that he wants Gears, Mass effect, etc to be on the PS3? After all, they don't want anymore 3rd-party exclusives.
I've given feedback on the Uncharted 2 beta. PSN ID: jmare2
For all those that are saying, "Summer is not a release date." read the title again, it says, "OFFICIAL MAG Beta Release Window." The key word is window, as in a timeframe from one point in time to another point in time when a specific event will occur sometime in between those two points. So summer does qualify.
EDIT: As long as there is a way to distinguish between rolling and cover, I will be happy.
Yeah who wants to play the games anymore? You should just have to hold a button and the game does it for you.
I don't know which is funnier, the idea that this is a serious article; or the fact that so many people are taking it seriously. I'm not familiar enough with Destructoid to know for sure, but the article does reek of sarcasm.
Do you not see the irony? A 360 fanboy claiming no 360 fanboy is screaming that Sony is doomed in a Sony is doomed article. Creepy. As far as Sony fanboys are concerned, it's just the pendulum swing. 2 years ago, you couldn't go anywhere without Sony getting crap for everything. It's immature, but it is what it is. That's why it's called fanboyism.
Don't you mean only Forza 3? Because Alan Wake is Remedy and ODST is Bungie which is independent now.
You are correct except for the pushing the PS2 part. The PS2 components were removed from the PS3 to quickly cut production costs on the PS3 so Sony could cut the price, because, at the time, the sales of the PS3 was not satisfactory for Sony. Sony focused more effort on the PS2 because it is still profitable and they use the profits fro PS2 sales to lessen the impact of the losses they incur from the PS3.
EDIT: The point still remains, Sony is not pushing the PS2 for the PS2'...
Psssst! He's a troll. Simple as that.
Did somebody forget the Wii?
EDIT: I guess the disagreers don't think he forgot the Wii. Fine, he omitted any mention of the Wii because it proves that his comment is bullshit.
People are looking at the PSP Go in the wrong way. The reason the price is so high is because Sony is positioning it against gadgets like the IPod Touch. I think it is too high because there is no touch screen, but Sony can't really afford to develop a true PSP2 right now. People will still buy it, even at $249. And since it will be profitable from day 1, hopefully Sony will use it to offset the losses from a PS3 price cut.
Well, I asked Cheesus (Look it up)and he said that if Sony drops the price this year, it will be for the holiday. He said it would be for two reasons: 1. It gives them another 4-5 months to bring down the production costs of the PS3; and 2. The holiday frenzy will boost software sales as well which will help offset any losses incurred from hardware sales.
"FFXIII was awesome, FFIX was great too even though I got all the way through to the final boss and didn't finish it"
FF XIII? Don't you mean VIII?
