The problem is the execs at MS. When the first Xbox and the 360 came out they had people who really cared about gaming and wanted to take the PC experience to consoles. Now, mostly because of the Wii, you have people in charge that are chasing after the casual and TV watching market. Most of the people who had vision with the 360 are now long gone.
It's the 3rd console curse!
Unboxing one console is far different than mass producing thousands of them. Like other people said, the PS4 passed through FCC weeks ago and we haven't seen the X1 yet.
They are taking more preorders than they have stock based on demand. They will try to meet that demand by ramping up production but it looks like some people who ordered aren't going to get one this holiday.
Add in Titanfall as one of those "exclusives" that we will be playing on the PS4 in a year.
If my experience is the norm, then the PS4 will take NA. I had an Xbox the past 2 generations and then MS screwed the pooch with the X1. Even with all the backtracking they couldn't save this fan.
It's all-in-one, you just have to connect a cable box, a kinect, and now a 360. One box surrounded by smaller boxes.
Well it's not about the hardware, it's about the the policies and the restrictions these consoles have. Yeah there will be trash indies that come out but the few amazing indies that have come out far outweigh the trash. You just have to be smart in what you download.
Have you seen Fez? Enough said.
I totally agree. It feels like MS is going down a checklist of things they did wrong and need to correct and are comparing it to what Sony has already done. This all started once MS saw the preorder numbers.
Microsoft did everyone a favor by screwing up so badly with consumer trust. Now all the misguided execs are trying to jump on the goodwill bandwagon that Sony created yet they just don't get it.
Wow, the denial is strong with you folks. The architecture is very similar between the two that the power difference will be noticeable in multiplatform games. And some of you have it backwards, when has a more complex machine that is harder to develop for a good thing. Also note that most of these 1st gen titles were designed with only 4gb of RAM in mind with the PS4.
Haha! The reason the Xbox one games at E3 looked like high end PC games is because they were running on high end PC's.
Agreed. Make a game out of the Samaritan demo.
You will probably end up paying $600 - $800 in import fees and taxes with the system.
It's the old saying, a fool is easily parted from his money.
Wow, get your facts straight. DDR3 is faster when it comes to latency and refresh. In all other areas GDDR5 blows it out of the water. Why do you think ALL the high end graphics cards these days use GDDR5. Also adding the esram and DDR3 together to get 192 gb/s just doesn't cut and is a fanboy dream.
@Mystogan the fact that MS hasn't released any specs other than 5 billion transistors and the execs saying hardware isnt everything is very telling that they have the weaker hardware.
@Superlupe Nothing screams next gen like the quick time events in Ryse.
This is great! It will hold me over till the remote play with PS4.
