Sticking a load of memory onto an APU doesn't suddenly make it powerful. I don't know why people don't understand this
The amount of stream processors in your GPU is far more important. The 8gb is there to cope with the heavy OS. It won't suddenly make your games look incredible. It won't suddenly, automatically, make all your games run at 1080p 60fps. That is down to the stream processors in the GPU, gpu architecture, cpu power, etc.
If ...
If you see BF3 at 2560x1600, you won't want to go back to 1080p. It looks so bad in 1080p.
The next gen consoles are weak. This isn't surprising.
Exactly, 'COD ROFL'... and the PS4 can't even render the high res textures for this ROFL game
What a beast!
Who cares if it has huma or not. It doesn't make up for an outdated gpu and severely outdated 1.6ghz cpu. It can't even render hi res textures in cod ghosts for crying out loud
But hey, huma.
- Hi res textures on Cod ghosts. Not possible on PS4.
- Any game running at 2560x1440. Not possible on PS4.
I could go on.
.....and yet it still can't guarantee 60fps 1080p on the best games
AMD can use as many buzzwords as they want (which you fanboys get over excited about, because you don't actually understand what they mean), it doesn't make up for the cheap components inside both consoles.
Watching PS4 fanboys and Xbox One fanboys argue is like watching two kids argue over a Nokia 3210 and 3310. One may be slightly better than the other, but both are significantl...
It's not a 'renaissance', it's slightly better specs which means you'll finally be able to play games in 1080p on the 1080p tv you bought 7 years ago
Of course, the problem appears when you buy a 4K tv and can only watch movies
Architect talks up his new system.
In other news, the sky is still blue.
Meh. Worlds post powerful scooter (i.e console). Exciting for people that can only afford a scooter
Who cares, when you own a porsche? (beastly pc)
PS4 fanboys vs Xbox Fanboys: HA! Your specs suck
PS4 fanboys vs PC Fanboys: Huh what specs don't matter! Honest
Same old sh*t on N4G.
$400 PC with $200 graphics card = $600. Free Online. Cheap games
$400 PS4. Pay for online every year. Expensive games.
You'll actually pay more for the PS4. A LOT more (controllers etc)
Have the foresight to look past the initial cost and consider the total cost. It doesn't take that much brainpower.
Well, that's what happens when you mix an awful tablet CPU with an average GPU. This is even worse when you consider that COD is hardly a 'demanding' game
BUT MARK CERNY!!! No. OPTIMISATION!!! No. Optimisation doesn't make much difference when you're optimising to cheap weak components.
Well, you'd need GTA IV on Android first
If it wasn't for 'nerds and geeks', your PS4 wouldn't exist
Idiot.
1080p won't be the standard for much longer. 4K tv's are getting cheaper every day. Soon enough everyone will have one
...and still lower than an intel dual core
2.5k is a great resolution, isn't too expensive either. Got my Asus 2560x1440 panel last year, games look AMAZING.
It's honestly such a huge step up from 1080p, I can't wait to get a 4k monitor when they get cheaper
It's a shame that the new consoles can't output games at this resolution, 1080p is yesterdays news. But I suppose after years of playing games in 720p and 540p, it's a step up
Probably whats taking up all that ram
Damn just think about it. In 2017, cheap PC's will be running games in 4k, better PC's will be running games in 8k, and the PS4/Xbox One will still be running games in 720p!
N4G posters in 2019: "Honestly PS5 will do 1080p 60 fps I swear, Mark Cerny's son has guaranteed it."
