Interesting news, how about now they resume the development of Eight Days and Getaway 3.
By the way the review build is from December 2008. There is no Jan 2009 build outside the GG offices :P
You all do realize L.A. Noire is being made by Team Bondi, and they are in Sydney Australia.
Killzone 2 will surely raise the bar for FPSs. It will be the Halo of this generation. I know alot of people will buy this game. I just hope it sells as much consoles as sony is hoping it to do.
But I think Killzone 2 is not the only game sony is betting on. I mean they have Heavy Rain (which if delivered on the promises can extend the gaming as whole in story telling). Infamous which looks cool for an Open World game, Uncharted 2 which looks phenomenal and God of War 3.
But what ...
Actually calling it a remake of Memento is an insult. They ripped the idea and gave it an Indian touch, while in the mean time the raped the whole concept.
I doubt they will announce anything new at CES09, because there major focus will be Windows 7.
I think they will announce there 2009 lineup at GDC09. Most probably we will see some details on Peter Jackson Halo Project, Alan Awake, may be Mass Effect 2 and a couple of unannounced titles along with the already announced halo wars and Halo 3 ODST. Microsoft announces titles on a year to year basis.
What about us Aussie gamers? No love for us:(
Has it surpassed, well in some cases yes, in some cases no.
The fire is better in the current build. The effects are way beyond anything. The animation is great. The facial expression etc. all look great.
I think even if it didn't totally reached that cgi trailer frame by frame, it does shows how good the game looks as it came really really closer, closer then most people ever thought it would.
Apart from that people comparing a console game to a cgi video, thats an achievem...
You can easily max out any processor with bad code. Its not the limit of processors you can reach. Its the limit of your engine running on the processor. 2 years back, with the release of Uncharted, I thought the games that will come around will not look way better from each other, but now you can see how Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain are shaping up. It will always be dependent on your engine.
Halo 3 is one example. halo 2 was one of the best looking game on xbox but the same e...
Yeah I was about to say that, aren't OPM the same guys that gave R2 80 or something. I could be wrong but they are pretty strict.
It would have been cooler if they had shown civilians in those houses in the city, should have shown the darker side of either ISA or Helghast. It would have been pretty cool moral dilema, i mean you are shooting Helghast army and people are screaming running around in chaos.:P
One word
WOW
just WOW, the game looks amazing, just amazing. I think the lightening is one thing that sets itself miles apart anything ever seen on consoles, i mean we have seen high poly character models in games like MGS4, R2, Gears 1 & 2 and Uncharted, plus we have seen high res textures but the lightening is way beyond every game on console.
Uncharted is the one of the best damn game i have played this gen. Apart from the jaw dropping visuals, it was the enemy AI that astound me the most. Online coop, harder puzzle, a little lengthier campaign and I am one happy gamer:P
Both platforms will have pretty awesome games. PS3 had a great year with exclusives in 2008 and things sure looks bright for them in 09 as well. 360 only had a couple of big name exclusive this year, but 2009 looks much better for 360 with titles like Alan Awake, Halo 3 Recon, GTA4 DLC, Forza 3 and a couple of other unannounced titles i am sure they will put up a great fight against GT5, GOW3, MAG, Killzone 2, Infamous, Agency, Uncharted 2, Ratchet, Heavy Rain and other unannounced titles. PS...
My Top 10 games of 2009.
10). GT5
09). FF-XIII
08). BioShock 2
07). Ratchet
06). Infamous
05). FF-versus-XIII
04). Killzone 2
03). Uncharted 2
02). Heavy Rain
01). God of War 3
Plus the title should have been "Jak 4 is announced soon?" & it is old news.
In terms of sheer number of quality exclusives it was the year of PS3, in terms of sales 360 did pretty well with the aggressive price cuts etc.
PS3 had some pretty good exclusives, games like GT5 Prologue, MGS4, Siren, Ratchet QFB, Socom (a couple of patches and it will be fine), Little Big Planet, MotorStorm PR and Resistance 2.
Out of the above in my opinion MGS4, GT5 Prologue, LBP and Resistance 2 were down right amazing. Plus they finally rolled out Home (the most boring piec...
I was pretty hyped for this game. Infact I knew my hype would cause disappointment but when I finished this game, I was so mesmerized that I had to play it again to believe it that I just played one of the best game of the decade. It is simply awesome. There is no comparison to this game.
I am not complaining about Killzone 2's 8 score, but my issue is with this statement:
"As much as we tried to like protagonist Sgt. Tomas Sevchenko, we just couldn't warm up to such a cookie cutter hero or care about the story."
That was the only flaw they reckon this game had, now consider this what they played was half of the game and with most dialogues just place holder and no intro and no ending, but still they didn't like the protagonist, plus then they compare thi...
*WOW THAT WAS GREAT!!!*
Fixed:P
No please no Killzone 2, I won't be able to resist myself from watching it :(
But Infamous, Resistance Retributions are most welcome :P
