Good read.
I think today's Games are becoming more like Films as gaming technology evolves.
From the article:
So how did Naughty Dog react to The Order: 1886 – did it panic the studio, did it make the developers question the games they’re making? Of course it didn’t.
Personally, I think 1886 is an awesome concept but I just wished R@D would've used some of their ideas for 1886 in a different way.Fist off, I really didn't ...
@poppinslops
Thank for the info. I'm really looking forward to trying out the oculus.
keep gaming.
@poppinslops
Sorry I missed your point.
Ok, you said Modders have got games like Skyrim to work with the Oculus kits, but it doesn't translate very well.
That's because A true VR game has to be build from the ground up to give us the complete VR experience. Those games you mentioned weren't built for true VR experience.
With that being said, this is main reason why I think TF2 would be released in the first quarter of 2017...
Sure they did.
You can't really make a predication like that if you haven't build the entire game. let alone what bugs may arises during the entire production process.
lol, The entire optimization process of a game normally happens in stages.
So, A game visual will always(in most cases)get down-graded.
At the beginning production phase of a game will have light optimization because there's less stuff in it.
The final production phases will go through extensive optimization to rid of any bugs or issues.
Something in the game have to drop/lessen to rid of any issues. plain n simple.
The Joel and ellies characters in last of us are so appealing to me that I would love to see the story continue with Joel and ellies.
How about a story where ellies is all grown up and she's the one protecting Joel who is now an old man.
@Abnor_Mal
@jhoward585 Dont get me work i really liked the story but its only fresh because its fresh to a video game. Because the story was so gripping im sure that would entice people to come back for part two ...
@Abnor_Mal
I totally agree, The Last of Us isnt a completely original story. But I think the amazing emotional experienced TLOU had felt fresh.
look at it this way- how many way can someone actually Bake a cake. The ingredient are usually the same but if you use the right combination of ingredients to make a cake- it will taste new n fresh again.
But when you try to create an offspring of your original recipe it won't be an easy task.
@poppinslops
The pilots are too mobile for VR. I don't agree for several reasons. Majority of people who game on mobile aren't tech savvy. That said, So much of the gaming mobile industry are made up of simple button mashing game players who are just looking for something simple to do when they're on the go.
Keep in mind, there's already been many attempts to sale the VR headset concept to the mobile market before. -not for gaming.
...
@disagrees
Its funny how some gamers just hit the disagree button with out ever saying anything or why they disagreed.
Ok, let me spit out more info.
Fact one- there aren't enough devs to support all gaming platforms.
Fact two- All VR providers need each other to make VR a hit.
Fact three- The first year can make or break the VR industry if it isn't good enough.
Fact four- just about ...
there would be nothing wrong with a sequel, a prequel or a spiritual successor.
How do you know that? The creator of the content/story are more important than the written story themselves - because they created it.
He either got it, or he don't. Its really up to the creators at hand. If they can't squeeze anymore ideas than it would be pointless to make another last of us game.
Why wouldn't we want more of it? I would love more last of us but I'm concerned on whether the original writer can squeeze out more ideas for last of us 2.
Introducing a story for the first time are always the easiest to tell. The second attempt to write another one would be very difficult to do.
Plus, it isn't easy to create a new zombie story with out infringing(or borrow) someone else storyline.
Do We Really Need More of The Last of Us? Well, that depend on the timing.
With so many awesome games coming out this year and the next Naughty are going to have to go way beyond than just having a great storyline for the last of us 2.
I think Titanfall 2 would be released with VR support.
The mech point of view would be a great fit for VR.
I'd say Titanfall 2 would be released in the first quarter of 2017.
They both have some weaknesses and strength imo.
Drive clubs look better than Project cars when the game is not in motion or paused.
But when both games are running in motion Project cars looks better(or shall I say feels better on the eyes) than Drive club.
My analogy are based on the differences between progressive-scan vs interlaced.
Riccitiello is spot on with his commit.
I think the way to resolve this issue is to encourage most devs to have all the necessary game making tools(including mocap) build inside their company.
The reason this needs to happen is because a lot of devs like use rehashed stuff to make their games. That includes rehashed animation sequences, textures, etc.
Some devs go to great lengths to try hide or masked the rehashed content by tweaking them to make it ...
@ this years E3 I think there's going to be some really big surprises.
I think VR is going to be the heart of the show.
Another thing, It would be a big big surprise if MS bought Sega. If true than MS will certainly have a better chance grabbing Japanese gamers attention, especially if they own the shenmue franchise.
I expect a much greater diversity in genre of games from Square Enix at e3.
I like what I'm hearing. This move could simply be similar to why Ninja Theory build their own mocap studio.
Commercial grade mocap is very expensive.
Nothing happened to No man's sky. I think its getting polished up for the project morpheus.
ND are one of the devs that have mastered their craft.
Well, I wonder will they use something similar to dx12 to build U4?
