I think the advantage is that programmers can be lazy. And when you have a deadline, lazy is good!
Not if much of Xbox's RAM is being used for other tasks, as the rumors go.
If that is the case, Microsoft may decide that adding more usable RAM is worth the cost.
Also, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY Microsoft will not reveal a similar feature of Sony's Share. It's trophies vs accomplishments only in reverse.
Nothing major, but Microsoft could add more memory (back in February) to compensate.
Sony should have kept its secrets until E3. Microsoft now has ample time to make adjustments.
I always thought their graphics were underrated. Infamous 2 especially had great particle and lighting effects.
Best game-mechanics ever!
They are using Microsoft's Visual Studio to develop PS4 games?!
I have to give Sony credit. While PS3 was all about ego, PS4 is all about practicality. The fact that they are utilizing tools from their sworn enemy demonstrates Sony's unprecedented humility.
As a (non-game) programmer I must say, Visual Studio is a great development environment... or at least it was 4 years ago. Will someone let Microsoft know that color-blind design effects productiv...
1. Price advantage from subsidized hardware
2. Ease of use
3. Suitable for Living Room
There is room in this competitive world for both consoles and PCs. And as a result, it is the consumer who wins.
I absolutely LOVE the franchise, I just hope they ease off from the malay combat, it really hurt the sequel.
Your not alone. Too much hand-to-hand combat.
I tend to agree. While the graphics on 2, specially particle effects, were fantastic, the addition of melay combat really hurt the experience.
Still one of my favorite games of all time due solely to its 'fun factor'.
They are only mentioning sequels that were SLIGHTLY less in quality than the original.
What about all the sequels that were truly terrible?
The added sub-par malay combat killed it for me (although it's still my second favorite game of all time) :)
The story was compelling but there does seem to lack some of the magic of the first. Can't put my finger on it though...
For the love of g-d, no more long loading times!!!
Apparently they are completely broke :)
Sony's debt financiers will not tolerate another huge loss leader. I expect Sony to sell within $50 of cost.
I think its the additional melee combat in the sequel that throws it off. Too bad though, because it is such a beautiful upgrade!
I do agree with many that the Infamous series is hands down the most "Fun" you can have in a video game. I pray their is a third! (or at least more dlc... just no zombies!)
Whatever it is, I hope it utilizes the great gameplay mechanics from Infamous. (excluding Infamous 2's melee attacks)
Infamous has some of the best gameplay mechanics (except malay attacks) of any game I have ever played.
I don't care what the scenario is, just get me back into Cole's universe.
True PC is better. But for most gamers, the question is "is it $1200 better?"
I agree with SynGamer, the 6x blu-ray drive is next-gen's Achilles heel.
Maybe because I am old enough to remember what playing Genesis / SNES was like, but long loading times is one of my greatest pet peeves and detrimental to the overall gaming experience.
The price you pay for cheap huge storage!
