I think he had it backwards, every year is a good year for 360 with multiplats, and for PS3 with exclusives ... and NEW IPs at that. Not ...
I was also very dissapointed in what they rolled out at e3. This was the year they could have grabbed back some core gamers that moved to PS and Xbox over the years.
Instead, we got a system that could have come out in 2005/2006 with PS3 and 360. The only game that interested me that they showed was ZombieU but even that was a teaser trailer with no gameplay. Yeah, $400 launch 360 + 7 years of live @50 bucks a year ... $750 for a launch 360 that probably RROD'd at least once, needed an HDD add on (or you bought another one altogether), and proprietary add ons that MS rapes people on.
That 360 with less features and capabilities is now more expensive than that PS3 that was getting dogged back in 2006 for being expensive .. and now the PS3 is also a 3D Blu Ray player and has had better games since, what, 2008?
PS2 launch ... DVD? Not worth the money, we don't need DVD based games.
PS3 launch .. Blu Ray? Too expensive, DVD is just as good. Games won't need Blu Ray, DVDs have enough space.
Not always first, not always cheapest .. but have proven to give the most value and be the most future proof.

Tomb Raider looks pretty damn awesome! Don't know what you're confused about, they've done an awesome job rebooting the franchise it seems. And even though Far Cry 2, I thought was excellent, people must not be very impressed with 3 if it only made the best FPS list. That should send up a Red Flag.

Loved how Sony brought the games again. I agree above how it would have been nice to see more for Vita, especially gameplay. But God of War and The Last of Us did not dissapoint!Beyond looks interesting, will be fun to follow this games development.

I really like the set pieces and cinematics. The giant space cruiser going down over Master Cheif was pretty awesome.
As big as the environments appeared, I felt the jungle seqeunce was very small. The game looks good though. Nice to see Chief back.
BTW, Splinter Cell looked damn sexy. Picking your targets then taking them all out in slo mo was pretty awesome.

It just shows Nintendo has no games except for Mario and Zelda basically. Its kind of embarrassing when you are going to launch you brand new console and one of your biggest "launch" titles is a re-release of yester-year.
It is more of an example that Nintendo still can't create exciting new IP's.

Wii U has been announced for a year and nobdy I know even knows about it until I mention it. Wii U is going to be a dud.

I would really love to see a Mark of the Kri/Rise of the Kasai game on PS3. Those 2 games were some of my favorite from the PS2. They would be awesome on PS3.
As for E3, I think we all know they'll show great games. That doesn't surprise me. What would be nice to see is a Vita and PS3 price drop.

Before I even read the article I said to myself "If Nathan Drake isn't on this list...." and there he was. The scene from U2 is a perfect example too, the guy flying/shooting in that helicopter must have been a Storm Trooper his aim was so bad!!!

Yeah, its easy to pick apart after the fact ...
... But the fact is, Amalur was a Fantastic Game. It was a giant game that was just so much fun. Characterization, Making and Naming you own Weapons, the World they created for the game to exist in ... everything was great. I loved it. My 2nd favorite Action RPG this Gen behind Origins.
Too bad what's happening with the company right now. Hopefully EA can find a way to continue the franchise!
