@Rute
That may have been the most thoughtful and intelligent post I've ever read about religion, especially on a gaming site. Bubbles for you!
Although, IMHO, I see the effects of religion as incidental. They usually arise in absence of other elements; elements like education, wealth and above all knowledge. Religion is the philosophy that fills the vacuum between enlightenment and delusion; an explaination for the un-resolved.
Put differently; whe...
I still can't tell whether it's rendered in-game, or prerendered with the game engine. If you could focus the camera close up on Nariko's face in the demo it would be a lot easier to determine.
Still, outstanding performances and terrific artwork. Andy Serkis knows how to direct. Apropos, if you crank the volume high enough you can hear someone say: "We WANTS it! WE NEEDS IT!"
It's interesting how the vast majority of HD DVD and Blu Ray players being sold are Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles...
The article is correct, the interest for this medium is too small for the consumer to have a significant influence, and on that part it seems that Sony has played it cards either right or dirty, because it is surely all about who supports who now. Even though HD DVD is cheaper and has some nice features, an HD DVD add-on for Xbox 360 won't do a damn thing.....
Well I think I'll be cautious until the reviews arrive. Besides there's still quite a lot of time until it gets released in Europe... apropos, can anyone tell me if Playstation 3 games are region-free?
Is it just me or did the textures recieve a massive update?
However, I don't like how Gamers-creed mixed pre-alpha footage with the real deal.
Very impressive. It reminds me of the king of MMO's, EVE Online, except we now have the ability to move inside the ships and land on planets. This will be huge, I'm sure, just hope that you are given a lot of freedom and that the massive scale isn't cut down to linear paths. Oblivion should be an example for these guys, in terms of freedom. Pull that off and this game will be golden... however as far as these screens show, it already is.
I don't really get the idea of having a US, UK and JPN store when I can log into them all without problems. Isn't Xbox Live globally synchronized?
A wallpaper for those of you with a sense of humor... 1080p Full HD background.
*edit*
Well it seems that N4G.com scales it down, so no HD this time :(
You get the point...
Haha Shadow Flare, bubbles for that one.
Sorry Mart, nothing against you but the man does have some sense of humor.
Calling it the most beautiful game ever will be denied by almost everyone, and I can't really deny or confirm it either, since I've only seen the trailer and haven't played the demo. However, I will agree that I've never seen better art direction, or at least such original art direction. Sure, everyone who says "Crysis!" "GEARS!" "Motorstorm!" says so based on the technological perspective, which I think is kinda cheap. Take F.E.A.R. for example... it had soft sh...
We will continue to have this discussion until the 60's generation die out. Oh, and do you wanna hear something funny? It was THE VICTIM who had a copy of Manhunt, not the killer.
So todays lesson apparently is; don't buy Manhunt if you don't want to be sliced into pieces.
And IF her son should have killed someone because of a videogame, it is HER SON that's a twisted freaky psycopath; blaming that on videogames is like blaming meteorologists for the bad weather....
Because of the PS3 lifespan it will EVENTUALLY out-sell the 360, as Microsoft in 4-5 years will have moved on to the next generation, along with Sony, at which point the Xbox 720 and Playstation 4 will battle it out yet again. However, Sony will continue to support it for many years and I for one actually believe this 10 year support claim. So put shortly; Microsoft got out of the gates first, but Sony will catch up just before the finish line.
Digital Distribution will be a major factor in the future, even in the near future. A similar feature will be included in the Home PS3 Theatre when it launches, so it's pretty versatile throughout. It has been around for awhile, and alot of companies are offering direct download through TiVo. It's the same discussion there was when people could record movies on VHS; the cinema industry was horrified that their days were over. Same thing when the television was invented.
I guess...
Well, all I'm saying is that this screenie is so lame that there hardly are any improvements from the original Killzone. I made a comparison from Killzone 1 and 2, you be the judge. If you ask me, that Helghast trooper looks suspiciously similar to the ones in KZ1.
@calderra - The devs have confirmed that it is 100% in-game, which is true. It's just that the poster is in-game. I fail to see how a 20$ budget can turn out this bad. It's not saktoma, it's simply plausible denial.
Hahaha... well now that thing come into place, I really start seeing the big picture of the joke. It's a poster from KZ1, hence why it's a "pre"-pre-alpha.
Oh come on, can we please begin to show a slight sign of patience now? Sony's conference at E3 is tomorrow at 9:00 AM, it's not that long people... How many trashy rumors have been posted about this game within the last 24 hours? It's like Christmas when you were a kid, you couldn't sleep the night before the 24th (or 25th) because you were so damn eager to see what your parents had gotten you. This is basically the same thing, so give it a break. As my good friend Hannibal Lecter said; "...
Why would Microsoft even bother making a portable version of their abandonned child, the Xbox? They're making success with the Xbox 360, and that'll be their focus. Trying to beat both Sony and Nintendo on the portable market is about as wise as playing Russian Roulette with a semi-automatic.
Guys! GUYS! Stop it.
The fate of both formats is in the hands of Hugh Hefner & Co. Whatever the porn industry chooses to focus on will determine the future, since there are a lot more horny losers out there than there are moviegoers.
Besides, who the hell wants to see porn in 1080p? I mean, does it really add to the experience that the male "actor's" asshair are scanned progressively with super crisp, Active Glitter, XD Engine quality? In that case...
@Omega
It's been so long since I last saw Dune; I must've been 5 or 6 at the time, but come to think of it, it actually does. Pretty strange for a kid of my age, who hardly understood English at the time, to watch a film like Dune. But I enjoyed it as far as I vaguely remember, especially the scene with the sandworms and occasionally any scene with the House of Harkonnen. Everything else is pretty much a blur.
