The PS3 can't load Active X objects, for protection I guess. It can see links and such. Besides, Game Trailers are running Real Player I believe and Sony haven't made a deal with those guys.
The browser is good for the casual search on the net, and by not loading everything also protects you from viruses (if there are any for PS3).
But yes, I agree with you. It sucks that only YouTube works. However, you can install Yellow Dog Linux and run Fi...
Having played the demo on PC with everything maxed, I can't see why it makes them both look "crappy". Unless "crappy" is just a word you like to throw in just to get attention. All 3 versions look much like, if not completely, the same.
If you absolutely HAVE to fight, go to the forums and start a flamewar. This is giving us all a bad name!
@xionpunk
Exactly my point. I did a long post once about the difference between decent technological touches, and decent art direction. I mentioned F.E.A.R. at release; though it was top-of-the-line in all tech aspects, it looked bland and uninspired. The same cannot be said for Crysis, but it has less of a 'romantic' feel. It's that feel in Uncharted that has me hooked I suppose.
But, alas, that's a personal preference. There are millions out there who will disa...
After I've been playing the Crysis demo for a long time, I'm beginning to find Uncharted much more appealing, visually. I know, they feature roughly the same technologies... but the overall feel is better in Uncharted, IMHO.
Crysis is still absolutely gorgeous,don't get me wrong, and does in several areas beat Uncharted, but those places are in the tech department, and cannot be compared since Uncharted simply does not feature them.
Then again, I haven't played U...
@Antan
Well, I do run Crysis at 1280x720 with everything at Very High, except shaders and shadows being at medium. The game still runs very smooth and still looks okay.
It's just that if I could run this in XP, and DX9 even BETTER, then there really is no reason to run Vista Ultimate (Hell Edition) at all.
Oh well, I just hope that the final version will run similarly to the demo, and not as Bioshock which took a dump on my system.
This is what happens when empires grow too big. It gets hard to keep the troops in order. Something like this mustn't happen...
One thing bothers me though, if DX10 effects can be activated in XP with DX9, it really isn't DX10 at all is it? I saw the screenies from the guy that, allegedly, ran DX10 effects in XP, and I felt like such a jackass for running Vista with a 8600 GT.
We have to be careful when comparing PC's to consoles, since the developement on each is vastly different. First off, there's no such thing as "a PC". There are millions, if not billions of them. Which means that devs can't squeeze out every last drop of power, obviously, since they have to focus on making a broader appeal. All PS3's 360's and Wii's are identical, and you'll see that even though their hardware may be limited, they can still battle it out with the monster rigs that a...
Hm... something's fishy here. They almost seem to have turned their attention away from any bashing deliberately. Don't get me wrong, Uncharted is a day 1 buy for me. It's just that Gamespot usually uses the phrase: "The controls were a bit off, but that can be fixed before release..." or "I noticed some slightly low-res nosehair in a sequence..."
Maybe Gamespot just can't afford any bashing anymore. Not after the Ratchet catastrophe. First the Resistance to...
...as Agent Smith said in Revolutions. And I could ask you the very same question. Why the hell are you fighting for a corporation? Will it fill your life with glee and anticipation if Sony pulled out of the market and Microsoft created yet another monopoly? You're even worse than the "lol crapbox 3fixme!!1 PLAY B3YOND!" tards that roam these boards.
You are pathetic, really pathetic. And that comes from someone who turns the other cheek at fanboys and flamebait. But ...

Holy hell! My fault... my browser seems to have got a bad case of the Grimlins.
Well, I doubt you will be able to download it 12 days before. I remember when the Ratchet demo launched; Sony's servers completely choked and I was unable to download past 20%. Now imagine a blockbuster like Uncharted. Some poor bastard at Sony is gonna work overtime. :D
Remember... paved the way. It'll be a while before they actually roll off the factories.
Actually, Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot, at least when considering their efforts to push the Xbox 360's sales.
I for one was waiting for the right time to purchase a 360, for this game alone. I've always admired Epic, since the days of the first UT. Those guys can blow the doors of the imagination with a Commodore 64.
But since I have a new laptop more than capable of running Gears, I've pretty much cancelled my plans of becoming a member of the Xb...
Oh my... a thread about which console will SELL THE MOST, and it hasn't turned into a World Flame War. I'm impressed guys, I enjoy seeing everyone contributing with facts and oppinions. Now where's MART and Nasim when you need them? :D
You must be so cool...
@Leg-End
Well that depends really, when we say this game looks better than that game. There are a lot of comparisons these days, and obviously Uncharted vs. Crysis is one of them. Truth be told though, these scores can never be settled since it all depends on perspective. We all remember F.E.A.R: though it had the latest state-of-the-art technology in it's engine, it still looked bland. Same thing with Crysis, to some extent. Its engine has an amazing ability to render lush jun...
Warning! Hype-train acceleration unstable!
I for one am quite optimistic. Since the worst movie ever, Bloodrayne, has already been made, it can't possibly get any worse.
So the good news I suppose, is that it can only improve from this point.
