Well, I still feel odd about having the PS3 stripped of all the 'bling-bling'. Mine's from launch, with all the chrome and nice little touches that just shines "quality" from a mile away. But then again, there are those who don't care about that, and they will be pleased by having the new 40 gig model. I still prefer the 60 gig any day though.
I had high hopes for Silent Hill as well, when Christophe Gans talked about how much Silent Hill meant to him. What did we end up with? Rubbish! Polished to serve the general public. As much as we're all hyped for Gears the Movie, remember this: This is Hollywood! In all probability it will be PG-13 and star Justin Timberlake as Marcus Fenix... okay joking, but you get my point.
I know PGR4 looks great, however, I also know that this thread will mutate into a GT5 vs. PGR4 comparison flameout.
"Come on honey, hurry up! THEY'RE COMING!"

This'll have to do for now. Though the FF series have never appealed to me, I believe this title will save the PS3 in Japan.
This is the first trailer that was released at GDC 2007, nothing new... except those horrid Japanese voice-overs.
I happen to disagree on that one. Firstly, it's not the same genre or game at all - therefore it's impossible to compare the two from a gameplay perspective. Yes, they feature a cover system, but that's about it. That's like comparing Prince of Persia with Tomb Raider for jumping around.
Secondly, if you refer to graphics, Gears of War is nowhere near as good. But hey, it's a year old so that figures. I think many people remember Gears as much prettier than it really is.
True, but at least that's a genuine business relation. Airbus got a huge bag with a "free-money" label. There's a significant difference. I agree that Boeing is playing it dirty as well, but the US govt doesn't interfere as frequently as the EU is. First Apple, then Microsoft and afterwards Sony.
Every hour, of every day, of every year that Union exists is another nightmare. I'm so tired of the EU constantly being the little whiny kid, but when something is fishy with an European corporation, everything's just fine. Remember the Boeing and Airbus struggle? Airbus got several billion euros from the EU, while Boeing were on their own. Apparently that's a free market according to the EU. Hypocrites all of them.
HS and Lair had mediocre graphics, since they focused on thousands of enemies on screen at once, whereas Bioware has put all their effort in small spaces. This is equally what Epic did with Gears of War. That's the main reason why all PS3 titles faints in comparison to 360 titles in terms of graphical quality. If there ever was to be developed a PS3 game with MAX 20 characters on screen, then you'd be getting eye-popping, unparalleled graphics. But until the devs at Sony realize that 1 billio...
Colin was actually the only reason I began watching the WRC; I mean, the man's driving was unparalleled! Everytime I watched any rally tournament, be it the WRC or X Games, it only cought my attention when McRae was mentioned. Even with other great drivers like Hakkinen, Colin was always the main focus. I'll never forget when he rolled on the roof in X Games: when everyone thought he was done for, he came flying out of a massive dust cloud in full speed, taking 2nd place. Anyone who won't rem...
Yay! We get what the US got last week! Why oh why must Europeans always be treated like 2nd class citizens? I feel like a traitor everytime I log on my US account, but... IT FEELS SO GOOD!
@ Gololo: With the demography here on the site, I'd presume that it's a guy you just told that. :D
Edit: I take that back, the gender says: female, so unless that really is a guy, you made a terrible one-liner there, son.
Who let the trolls out? Who, who who who?! Who let the trolls out?!
Well that depends if Microsoft gets rid of all the faulty consoles, if they don't, I doubt there'll be a significant move in consoles. Microsoft lost a load of PR with RRoD issues and disc scratching, and if they still persist in the holidays, the 360 will become less of a priority on the kiddies wishlists I believe. Also bear in mind that we will have 3 other heavy weights out for PS3 by Fall: Lair, Uncharted and Ratchet. HS already got butchered so that doesn't count. Lair may suffer the sa...
Bubbles for Crytek!
I seriously can't blame them; Germany is already crossing the line when completely banning blood in videogames. A total ban of violent videogames will not only lead to frustrated consumers, but would be a limitation of the freedom of expression. I can understand age restrictions to some degree, but to make the act of BUYING violent games a crime is nothing short of rediculous.
Well, outright PAYING a company to gain exclusive support isn't very convincing of a format's superiority IMO. If Paramount had chosen HD-DVD without having a fat, greasy paycheck for doing so, then I'd be worried.
The 199$ HD-DVD player Bay mentioned hasn't even been announced yet, so who is to say that the Blu-Ray camp won't lower the prices equally, to say, 299$?
As true as it may be, the elder generations will always perceive gaming as a mind deteriorating activity.
Actually, whenever you play a game (depending on the difficulty) almost every part of the cerebrum is active and the brain forces itself to give that little "extra" power, so you can actually beat a game. Don't believe this? Ask your parents if they would join you in a co-op game in Gears. Even though you have more experience, your fingers' reaction are many times...
"My name is Jen5en, and I am here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own gaming? No, says the man at Sony... it belongs to the rich. No, says the man at Microsoft, it belongs to Bill! No, says the man at Nintendo, it belongs to everyone."
BioShock is an awesome game, let the little ones buy it off eBay, what's the big deal?
Just watched the videos from gamersyde.com in .mp4 format on my PS3 (define irony huh?), and I have to admit that it was spectacular. I won't get into a graphics-whore discussion here, but the debate the game opens, its art, the direction... it all added up to a thrilling experience. It was the first time I watched a gameplay video twice!
I wish more titles á la BioShock would come to the PS3, innovation for the masses is good, but sometimes a fantastically crafted corrido...
I agree, but hey... since when hasn't large corporations been a bunch of hypocrites, right? The most important thing is that these PS3's basically has the same functionality. They aren't stripped of hard drives for example, only the Backwards Capability. Thing is; devs don't care about BC, only we do. I do too, although I've only played ONE PS2 title on my PS3 - RE4. That's it. So why does it matter to me? And why do I want a Memory Card reader when I've never used it? I don't know, and neith...
