"Have you ever gone to a casino and lost thousands? Not many do, but you have people that are addicts and do."
Plenty of people go to casinos and have a great time, it's a night out on the town. Why should we all have to suffer because a small minority have addictive personalities and can't control themselves?
Serious question: have you ever bought a loot box?
The large majority of gamers who want loot boxes banned by the federal government want it because it punishes developers/publishers. That's what it's about, punishment. It's government intervention at it's worst.
Unless you want the government to be your parent.
What percentage of people, would you say, are calling you a misogynist? Do you mean in real-life, or are you talking about a few articles here and there?
Another right-wing activist using a game site to scream about liberals. Sad.
They actually had a discussion with you about that? For some reason I doubt it.
I see your point though.
I agree. They did almost everything right in that game.
Just a thought...is he saying maybe developers should be careful so that the federal government doesn't step in?
I remember after a mass school shooting Trump talked about violence in video games, it was very worrysome.
A lot of people here argue for the sake of arguing.
A lot of people you might think are individuals are really sock accounts.
Via it's Steam store, Valve Corporation pukes 10-20 shovelware titles each and every day.
Even if they plan to overtake the gaming industry it isn't going to happen. It's too big to be overtaken by any one company.
The lawsuit isn't about people being fooled into thinking it's one of their albums.
I don't think it's about the money.
They had to pay Ninja a million dollars to play it on Twitch. That sure broke a record.
Not to me it doesn't.
Why are you assuming they have something to hide? Do you know something the rest of us don't?
It's a semi-closed event. There is nothing bizarre about it.
They probably aren't ready to go public worldwide yet. The game is still a work in progess.
@rainslacker
"Such an explanation is a bit wordy to have to explain every time."
There is no need to explain it every time, at least not to me.
It's at the point where people are arguing over word usage. When I think of censorship I think of government prohibition, something terribe. Others think disallowing the n-word on game servers is censorship. One is awful, the other is perfectly fine. One is censorship, the other is...
It might take a few years but ray tracing is the future, there is no doubt about it. It will speed up development time dramatically and we'll see more and more indie games that rival AAA.
It won't be like VR either, it's not something that needs acceptance. It will just replace the old lighting pipeline and be easy for devs to adopt, simple as that.
I don't see how anyone can say they hate government intervention and at the same time support The Protecting Children from Abusive Games Act.
