What incentive has their been for NVidia to support Linux when less than 1% use it? Makes no sense to invest resources into that and I don't blame them.

True, but people over the age of 15 (assuming they have the kind of money for a steambox), should really just build their own pc.
By build, I mean you literally just plug in about 8 essential components (which are retarded proof because of the plug in shapes). You save around 50% by just doing that. But we live in a very lazy society, so I guess steam box could be an option for those people.

You don't need a Steam Machine to use the new Steam OS (Linux based). It will for sure attract some console games because of a streamlined interface and the possibility of improved performance over windows. How much and to what extent remains to be seen.

I wouldn't count on that being free forever. Ps3 online was free, but Ps4 is mandatory paid.
What if Id rather workout at home and not pay $30-60/monthly membership fees and the gas to drive 15-20 min each way 3-5 times per week? Just to use sweat and bacteria laden equipment.
