I still wish SSOD would come over to the PS4. Maybe they will bring over a bigger and better sequel for it eventually. Their NC office has to be working on something after all. But for now I cannot wait to get Spider-Man and I hope it does well enough we will see multiple games in this Spidey-verse.
I still remember when it was rumored and everyone assumed Sucker Punch would be the ones behind it. The fact it's Insomniac and not Sucker Punch has me extremely excited for it. Don't get me wrong but I love SP and the games they have made. But to see a group like Insomniac making this with the humor and crazy weapons they had in their other games gives me hope we will get the best Spider-Man game yet.
All those exclusives will help but they just don't have the brand recognition that Spider-Man has. The fact that Spider-Man is truly exclusive to the PS4 will do a lot to drive future sales of the system. Once people buy into it for Spider-Man the other exclusives will truly show them why they made a wise choice.
Why would anyone buy a Xox for multiplats when they can get a PS4 or PS4Pro and play the same multiplats and also play exclusives you can't get on the Xox? Fact is XBox isn't getting Spider-Man or many of the other great exclusives Sony is known for. Now if Microsoft shows some great must have exclusives that can rival what Sony is producing then yes it may be worth getting. But currently they just aren't doing that.
The Switch on the other hand could sit right ...
I actually could imagine a co-op Spider-Man game and it would probably work fairly well. Could have multiple versions of Spider-Man like in Edge Of Time. Add in Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales. But if you're talking competitive MP yeah that wouldn't work.
Don't forget Spider-Man. It is SP only as well. That is probably my most anticipated title for next year.
@meka2611
Sony was developing the Move even before the Wii released. The Eyetoy was on PS2 and that was when they started experimenting in house with what would become PS Move. The Playstation Eye on PS3 was released in 2007. Several years before Kinect every saw the light of day on XBOX. So please stop your ranting. Also what else do you need besides a ton of great games across different genres to make a console worthwhile? All the rest are just extra icing on an already d...
Well it is fine for big set pieces like what we saw in the trailer. Otherwise it would be impossible to convey what Spidey can do and also keep us engaged at the same time. I am really looking forward to just spending a lot of time web swinging around the city and I suspect there we won't see so many QTEs.
If you have really been with gaming from the beginning then you'd know that of course companies want our money. Do you know how they get it? I only ask because it seems like you don't. Well I will tell you. They get our money when they put out games we want to play. Fact is Sony right now is the company that listens more to the fans and gives the fans content they want to play. PSX is a testament to that as it is strictly for the fans and not for the media as E3 usually is.

yep. I like the new direction this God Of War is going in. Should keep things fresh. And you're right about ND influencing things. I see that and other good influences in the new Spider-Man game. While some may think it's a negative I like the fact that other studios are able to see things that work and mold it into their games to just help give the game more punch.
Never mind Uncharted and HZD over Crackdown 3. How can someone look forward and think Crackdown 3 would be a better choice than Spider-Man? Granted Spider-Man is a bit far out still but looking at them side by side you'd be hard pressed to say why you should spend an extra $100 for a XBO X and Crackdown 3 over a PS4 Pro and Spider-Man. I am saying that strictly if someone was looking at a more powerful system and not just a XBox One S or standard PS4.
I don't even need to see more of The Last Of Us 2 except a release date. I am already sold based on how good the first one was and ND's track record of always doing better. I do really want to see just what Sucker Punch is working on though. They have been silent since First Light but I wouldn't be surprised if what ever they are doing will bring them similar attention that HZD brought to Guerrilla Games.
They have already confirmed it will be Open World. When you're in a mission like the one shown they will have fail states, for example you get too far away from the chopper. But when not in a mission we are free to explore the city.
A lot of the fun with Spider-Man 2 was the freedom to really just swing around the city and that is one thing other Spider-Man games have gotten wrong when they added in arbitrary menace or hero systems that would punish you for just messin...
I really hope this is a game we get sooner rather than later next year. At the same time I really want them to take their time and make the best game possible. From the demo they showed we are definitely in for something special.
@Summons75
Knack 2 isn't supposed to be a system selling title, but it is a good example of the variety that Sony keeps pushing on the system. SOTC remake also won't be a system selling title but it also doesn't need to be. God Of War however will be releasing early next year, so no we aren't forced to wait a whole year or more for more exclusives. Also we don't know when next year Spider-Man is coming out and whether it is early next year, the summer, o...
They do have Knack 2 releasing in September and while it may not be what one would call a "major" title it could be a lot better than the first and turn into a major hit for Sony. Also Sony has gotten better about releasing great titles across the year and not waiting until the holiday season when we usually see the big publishers releasing a glut of 3rd party games where exclusives can sometimes get lost.
@Kiwi66
I don't even remember now which ones. That is another issue MS has. Their messaging leaves a lot to be desired. The word "exclusive" was said so many times in their conference that it was hard knowing exactly what they meant. Is it really Xbox One S only. XBO X only, MS platform only or what? I hope they can do better in the future with that. Frankly I want MS to do well and to really push games that will give people a reason to not only buy into their...
Ubisoft's was pretty good. My personal favorites from their show was Assassin's Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, and Skull & Bones. The last will depend on what kind of single player it might have if any and also how many of my clan mates might be getting it. After all that would only be fun with I have friends to play it with. Now they were definitely better than the other studio conferences and for me they were just under Sony for an overall conference.
@VideoGameLab
It was 42 games and the majority of those were indie titles. You know the same type of games that for years people like you have said don't really count anytime Sony showed them off. Out of the rest a lot were multiplats that you don't need a MS system to play. So really what does that leave? Not much and certainly nothing that makes people really see why they should invest in the XBO X. But please do continue dismissing Sony and making excuses as to w...
This is easily my most anticipated game for next year. It has been so long since we have had a truly great Spider-Man game and I know I will spend hours just web swinging around the city. Also I expect I will either re-play the game multiple times to see how I can vary things up or replay encounters if they allow for that. Actually I am hoping they have some optional modes like the Challenge maps in the Batman Arkham series. Give us some races to test our movement skills, maps for stealth, an...
