Honestly if they do add it to Spider-Man I hope they do it like God Of War or HZD does. With HZD you can choose new Game Plus and play it on a higher difficulty setting and even get better gear. For God Of War they have said they will make NG+ harder to make up for people being able to bring certain things over. I think Spider-Man could benefit from extra difficulty on a second playthrough.
Next year I expect they will be unveiling the PS5 and some exclusive launch titles for that. Probably also showing one more look at any exclusive games that will be coming out in the Fall of 2019.
I expect we could see something much sooner. They were already putting out plans for a sequel around the time they were wrapping up this one. Also the new one took so much time because they had to build everything from scratch. Lastly Cory Barlog has said he'd rather jump into a sequel than DLC so maybe they will get started later this year and we can see a new one in two-three.
@chrisx
Yes you probably are the only one. As to me he looks exactly like the actor playing him. Now I wonder if they can throw in a light saber easter egg.
Speaking of Open World titles for Sony. Spider-Man will be open world as it Ghost Of Tsushima. Frankly I am excited to play them as well as Days Gone and RDR 2. Why? Because each puts you in a different world that I want to explore and see what stories I can make outside of the main narrative's they all will have. Because ultimately in Open World games you can make your own story based on how you play.
I say fold it into PS Plus with the ability to download. Also start offering up PS1 and PS2 titles. After all with them stopping PS3 and Vita titles for Plus adding in PSNow would increase the value a lot.
Well they did say they kept pushing it back to focus on the game and wanted to get photo mode right as well hence the wait. But I know I will be playing through it again. I want to do immersive mode and also the hardest difficulty. Going to use photo mode then.
Well once we get it that will warrant yet another play through. Frankly I don't think I could ever tire of this game but I also haven't beat it once yet.
Insomniac has confirmed the cutscenes are real time and will reflect the suit you are wearing. https://twitter.com/insomni...
The only game I really have any interest in on the XBOX One is Sunset Overdrive and one game is not enough for me to buy that system when I have many other games I want to buy for the PS4 already.
Marvel started looking at how to treat their properties better in video games in 2014 after the deal with Activision expired. It is why we will be seeing a multi platform Avengers game from Square Enix that is being developed by Crystal Dynamics. It was also during that time Marvel approached Sony about developing a game that was treated as well as Sony treats 1st party titles. Whether those talks were part of the movie deal is unclear. What is clear is that Sony chose Insomniac and went to t...
I don't know about a trilogy but Marvel and Sony have both stated it was for multiple games. I do hope it will be a trilogy though and basically all fit as one large story.
I can't find it currently but there is one of Spider-man using his webs to go through a concrete pipe that is hanging off a crane. It zooms in as he goes through it like how it did for the sign during the E3 demo. It's amazing that they put things like that in the city to give people the option to really web swing with style.
That has pretty much always been true for any generation. It is always down to what the developers can do with a system. And the developers is why Sony has generation after generation been a dominant force in gaming. Whether their system is the strongest or not doesn't come into play when they have outstanding devs that can make games that aren't just stunning visually but also be something people praise for the gameplay and stories.
Horizon Zero Dawn was an excellent game. I already have GOW pre-ordered and I can't wait to play it. Also got Spider-Man Collector's Edition on pre-order and considering it will be the first physical copy of a game I have bought this gen for myself should say something. But I think the new direction they are taking with GOW could really put it in the top tier of PS4 titles. It certainly seems like it will top all the ones in the series that came before it.

I also want full BC with PS4 games on PS5. PSNow however could survive and even thrive if they used it for PS3, PS2, and PS1 BC though. Allow us to download titles to PS5 and it will seriously take off. Only thing keeping me from going for PSNow currently is the fact it lacks PS2 and PS1 titles.
I chose God Of War and I can get FC5 on sale at a later date. Got to put down a pre-order for Spider-Man Digital deluxe and Detroit Become Human too.
I have played pretty much every Spider-Man game except the PS3 version of Spider-Man 3. Got the PS2 version instead as I didn't have a PS3 when it came out. I have enjoyed some more than others but this one so far seems like the one I have always wanted to play.
I love when they start talking about web swinging in game just to relax. Back after Spider-Man 2 came out I would sometimes break out the game just to go web swinging and it was relaxing. This is obviously going to beat what we had back then and I cannot wait to again just enjoy using the city as a playground.
On another note it is going to be great seeing how people string together moves and how they traverse the city.
@Neonridr It’s a sepearate universe than the MCU which is what Homecoming is part of. We will find out what specific Marvel Universe the game is part of in late Sep with Spidergeddon #0.
