I was one of the few people who had no problem with the "New" E3 because every year it was a complete ZOO and it's purpose was becoming ever increasingly obscured. While I do think there needs to be an E3 like event that is geared more towards fans than press, the new version of E3 is far better than the old one because it accomplishes what it was meant to accomplish. Had E3 continued down the path it was going it would have eventually served no function at all as I assure you slowl...
Microsoft has basically attempted to strong arm everyone in to using Vista not by making it better than XP but by giving you no other choice in the matter if you want a feature like DX10... And this doesn't even factor in the near inability to order a PC with XP or pick up a copy of it in a local store. It's no hypocritical, it's evolution of opinion based on new information... First we learned that DX10 was going to be Vista exclusive, which pissed us off, then we figured out that Vista was ...
The problem with this Activision/EA manhood waving contest is that neither of these companies is known for their console loyalties to begin with and it can also be argued that neither company has a track record of making games that move consoles off shelves.
This continued desperate ploy to keep HD DVD alive might work in the short term but in the long run all it's going to do is hurt people by requiring them to purchase two pieces of equipment to watch movies on. I'm sorry if you don't like the fact that HDDVD lost but you're just going to have to accept it and get over it.
Kotaku: Your source for people desperate for MGS4 on the 360.
Not that I can really blame them because I have this feeling that behind the scenes there's a minor conflict going on inside the various offices of Konami all over the world. I get the feeling that this conflict has led to the "rumors" and "speculation" of MGS4 appearing on the 360. The rumors start, and start again, and again, and when they get firmly squelched by Kojima all of a sudden MGS4 has ...
How many of the PS2 "Killer Aps" came out in the first year of the PS2? If you look at some of the early PS2 games, even the good ones, you will see how technically inferior they are to the games that came out later. As for the 360, I doubt they've reached the limits of its capabilities either but we'll have to wait and see.
We know the PS3 limits have not been tested.
The PA kids are fanboys to the core and always have been. It started long before the Playstation 3 came out and has only gotten worse. I'm just wondering what it must be like to mock the gaming and gaming news industry for years then completely sell out and become the very thing they used to make fun of.
Talk about not even 'tip of the ice burg', there's so much of this stuff out there.
How many of you ever played a Grand Theft Auto game and wished there were more completely pointless side missions? This might come as a shock to Microsoft but what makes GTA great is not if it has 100 or 102 missions, it's the overall game and how it plays that makes it great. I'm sure that the extra content MS bought will be spiffy but do you honestly think it will be that special?
Looks like they forgot to put the main logo on the machine, it should say "Street Fighter 2.5 3D: Nothing New Edition" somewhere on that machine.
The sky is blue, water is wet, Joe Quesada is an idiot, the console war is not over. What else do we need to say that is completely obvious? 2008 may be Sony's "year" as EGM says but the 360 is going to continue to do as well as it has been and the Wii is going to continue to dominate. Three strong competitors will make this better.
So then this begs the question why Fox news, not the AP, and not the researchers that produced the study gets the "blame" here. Why is it that Fox, and only Fox, gets the blame when they are the least responsible? Why did Destructiod so flagrantly misrepresent what the article said and act as if Fox said it? Where is the outrage for the AP for writing the piece or the researchers for creating the study the piece was based on?
Those are rhetorical questions: People hate ...
Vista is right on track of course, which is why most businesses and universities are not buying it and people are PAYING to have Vista removed and XP installed.
If they can make it as good as Twisted Metal Black and actually balance the game for multi player then it's a sure fire hit.
Why yes, I did watch the piece and I actually caught it when it originally aired and not after the fact when a storm of misinformation had already been perpetuated... Which I should like to point out is now being done again. You did notice that Fox offered to let EA come in and clear things up right? Clearly, they have a planned agenda which apparently includes offering offended parties the chance to respond.
The question is did YOU watch it? It was a short segment done once wit...
Whoever reads the e-mail over at Fox will promptly file yours in the "amusing" box as you sent them an e-mail to complain about a story they didn't even write.
Once again: This is an ASSOCIATED PRESS STORY and not a Fox News story. You noticed it was on MSNBC as well, so that might have been a clue for you.
Once again, why is the blame placed solely on Fox? Well, besides the fact that people don't like Fox for "other" reasons.
Fox has little responsibility for the Mass Effect controversy either but in case you missed the point.
They're throwing the blame completely, totally, and utterly on Fox for a story they didn't even write based on a study conducted by an independent research group. Of all the associated parties, Fox is the least involved but they are the ONLY people being scrutinized. Why do you suppose that is? It's funny that you should even bring up the Mass Effect issue, because apparently ...
First of all the Destructiod opinion piece completely misrepresented what the article said and implied, and that would be the first distortion.
Second of all, this comes from the Associated Press and not Fox News, that would be the second distortion.
Third of all, it was a study produced by a research group so the people actually claiming video games are causing the decline of "nature" were the research team, not the AP who published the story or Fox Ne...
So they're not going to "gimp" the 360 version by "toning it down" the the PS3 level? Apparently EA is being run by a bunch of simpletons these days or at the very least they have some lazy programmers. I guess they missed the recent graphics test that showed the 360 taking twice as long as the PS3 to complete, though I suspect that test was probably rigged to a degree.
Before video games, it was violent movies, and before violent movies, it was violent cartoons, and before violent cartoons it was Dungeons and Dragons, and before Dungeons and Dragons it was rock n roll/heavy metal, so on and so forth back through the decades. People have always found a way to blame something they intensely dislike for the problems in society.
