Man...has fanboyism and this made up console war gotten so bad that people are arguing over the freakin disc formats?
That's pretty pathetic.
Can't wait for the beta! I kind of hope it's at the end of september entering my fall break so I can actually get some good play time with the game lol.
You can't have kinect "built in" to the console lol. That think would be huge.
As long as the QUALITY is still there, which it is, then I have no problem with it.
Wouldn't be that surprising to be honest. While the ps3 will still be on the market for a good 5 more years, there is no reason why Sony wouldn't release their next console, especially when looking at their past generations. Nintendo sped up the coming of the next generation whether people want to accept it not.
I'm fine with Kinect's existence. It makes Microsoft a ton of money which is their goal. The games don't interest me, but if they interest somebody else, well that's cool. I hope they enjoy them.
What I am not fine about kinect and its games is that Microsoft has stopped making core games that do not use kinect or use kinect a minimum. Most Xbox 360 fanboys will deny it by point at the xbla, but Microsoft has not released ONE exclusive AAA retail game si...
1080p 60 fps standard for every game.
most importantly, Microsoft's focus on actual gaming and not gimmicks again.
I would be content with that.
The game looks like it has a lot of promise and this is coming from somebody that has been playing the GR series since the og, which definitely still are the best lol.
Just don't cater to the noobs. Ghost Recon has always been about tactical gameplay, knowing the maps, knowing the choke points, knowing the high and low ground advantages, etc etc.
so the ps1 and ps2 were cheap consoles? I mean they were the weakest of the bunch in their respective generations.
As long it can do 1920x1080p and higher than 30 frames without an effort, it will be fine.
The question is will it have the library of games and not shovelware? Will Nintendo regain the confidence of the core gamer? Will nintendo be able to sell another gimmick?
only time will tell
good thing power isn't what matters. What matter is the library of games. Sure wasn't power that sold the ps1 and ps2 lol
Simple. the general public doesn't give a rats ass about exclusive/multiplatform games.
They see a game they like they are going to buy it. The idea of exclusive/multiplatform doesn't come into thought.
If Microsoft advertises a game first on their console, they will get the public eye first, which in turn means higher sales.
It's a business strategy that has left the last 2 years of 360 gaming relying 80 percent on multiplatf...
@bob570
That is a misconception because Sony does not own blu ray. While Sony was a leader in the development of Blu Ray there are actually 9 founder of the Blu Ray Disc format that formed the "Blu Ray Disc Association." The 9 original consists of companies like Samsung, LG, Sony, Hitachi, etc etc.
Today there are nearly 30 companies that sit on the board of this Association and more likely then not Microsoft will be one if they aren't secre...
Better as in regards to what? Games? maybe but that is all opinion. Hardware? Maybe, but seeing as the ps1 adn ps2 were the weakest consoles in their generations and made Sony ridiculous amounts of money, do you really think they will go for the powerful hardware? What if they return to being the company that takes a half a step forward and goes for the 299 pricing?
No certainty can be offered about the quality of the next xbox/ps/wii since we haven't used them yet al...
I agree. It will be Blu Ray. If people haven't noticed, Microsoft pushes the 360 as an "entertainment" console/hub, not just a gaming console.
You can watch netflex, hulu, rent movies, buy movies, use the xbox as a media extender. People, including myself, have the 360 at the center of their media room. You can stream live tv to it via WMC, watch recorded tv, watch ripped movies etc etc and has dvd playback.
Do you really think they are not g...
@Clarence
other then blu ray, what can't the 360 do when it comes to being an entertainment console?
My household has 3 360's which I use all as extenders. I rip all my dvds/blu rays onto my server, record live tv on to my server, and watch live tv, all through my 360. I think that signifies a pretty complete entertainment console when I can do all of that.
What they are lacking in is games. I got to hand it to Sony in that dep...
Now, I have a preference for my xbox 360 over my ps3. It's my preference! This guy though is just an utter douche bag. Last week Charles Lewis said it was hard to please core gamers. I'm sure it is when all the company you work for makes is dancing games and exercise games and the same 4 titles year after year....
Now he is saying the 360 has the best multiplatform titles? That's great, but I am pretty sure having the best EXCLUSIVE titles is much more import...
did they really just say it was tricky to keep us core gamers happy? Are they really that disconnected with their audience now?
Microsoft it's not tricky. You have a game console. Make games for it that doesn't involve flailing your arms and jumping around the room. There, you have made your core audience happy.
Instead of making your core audience wait nearly a year for a AAA exclusive retail title, how about making it your goal to release 5 AAA ...
disclaimer: Before you read on, I am a 360 fan, this is just my opinion and criticism.
you see, in a way Microsoft is. Microsoft has pretty much dropped all support for it's core market. When was the last time Microsoft released an exclusive high value retail title? Halo: Reach? That's the last one to come to mind. (before people say anything, fable 3 went multiplat, it does not count anymore). It's going to be nearly ONE YEAR since microsoft has released real g...
I am tired of this "everyone" attitude that gained so much popularity this gen.
Instead of making games easier, how about making better games and having people do something I like to call LEARNING to play the game....
accessibility is going to ruin the industry.
