All those people that bought a xbox during the black friday period and for argument sake, in the last 2 years, are not going to be in line to buy the next xbox.
People need to understand that people that are barely buying a xbox 360 6 years into it's life span won't care about new hardware because they more likely then not are casual gamers.
A new console will be aimed at the core crowd that have had their console 5, 6 and by next holidays 7 years....
I think i've said this about ten times in the last 24 hours lol, but people buying xbox 360's now, wouldn't be buying the next xbox at launch anyways.
Why did the 360 sell so well? 200 dollar price point, duh.
Do you think those people are going to be lining up outside of the store waiting for launch of a 399-499 dollar console?
That's definitely a no.
Yes please!
Actually, the tablet/gamepad hybrid they have going can be very much for the core if the game is designed to use it properly. The touch screen can add countless more buttons/add a whole new dynamic to games....think of a mec game needing you flip a bunch of switches on that screen in order to turn it or for instance a zelda game, where you can see your inventory/map at all times on that screen....
There are a lot of great possibilities, the only question is will it be put to...
if GTA V is coming to the Wii-U, then no doubt it will be the best console version....it's new hardware.
people are not understanding the two sku thing.
The lowest model is not a game console first. It's a media device with kinect integration firfst and as a second thought some dlc kinect game possibilities.
You won't see Halo, Gears, or any other real game on it.
The actual game console will have all the features the media device sku has, but actually be a gaming console first where you will find all of yoru real games on.
funny thing is their podcast said the opposite lol.
I posted that comment.
Or they followed through with their "forward Compatibility" research and for gamers that are actually dedicated to the hobby, they can purchase the xbox 3 and Halo 4 and play halo 4 with better graphics/fps/performance.
Here, I will poke a hole immediately in Pacther's logic. He is looking at it from a financial stand point in the current. What he needs to do is look at it from a GAMER stand point for the future. Microsoft is on their way of losing the dedicated gamer audience. They will end up like Nintendo scrambling to gain the confidence of gamers again if they continue on their current path.
Launching a new console next year, with hardware anywhere near the rumored specs in the t...
Interesting experiment.
I personally bought both MW3 and BF3. I definitely fall more in battlefield fan range then CoD.
I'm already over MW3 and I am only a level 40. It just feels the same as every other CoD. Run shoot. get killed by guy in a corner. Try to play tactically, take it slow, use ADS, get shot by a guy in the corner. Stay as a two man team with a friend, get shot by a guy in the corner.
I am a bit disappointed with BF3 a...
If you listen to KOXM's podcast from last week and this week, they reference to an interview with some guy, don't remember his name sorry, that works for Microsoft. This guy alluded to the next console having "forward compatibility."
This would be one of the smartest moves MS could do for a console launch for the first year or two. Games will come out and can run on the 360, but when you are ready to jump to the new console, those same games you bought wi...
*looks at the 700 million dollars activision made in one week*
@dcortz Payback? What are you, 10 years old lol.
Well duh. All a girl has to do is spread her legs, doesn't matter whether she is attractive or as ugly as a pigs ass, a guy will screw her.
If the rumors are true that devs have had target boxes for months now and are receiving official sdk's in the next month, I think there is a good possibility we will be seeing this new console next year. If I remember correctly, devs didn't receive official 360 sdk's until 6 months prior to it's launch. Might be wrong about that though.
All you have to do is look at what market they are currently focused on. The 360 will make a great entry level console when this thing drops and the 360 get's a price cut.
doesn't mean it can't come out on both with improvements for the new hardware of course ;).
Eh, I don't think they should try to match bungie.
There is a lot of great talent at 343 it seems.
I would prefer to see what they can do as a studio...not trying to live up to the legacy of another studio.
one year difference in release will yield no difference in hardware power.
