Well, more likely then not, it will. It's a gimmick. Gimmicks never last. That's how it goes. Gimmicks are great to make tons of cash in the short run if you can get it to take off, but definitely not the long run. Look at the Wii.

The Wii-U has already been said to be able to run at games at 1080p natively. That constitutes superior technology.
If Microsoft and Sony don't launch their new console soon after the Wii-U, Nintendo will have the advantage of being the console running games at 1080p

The Xbox 360 has already been turned by Microsoft into a "casual platform." They need to separate Halo titles at minimum 2 years....They will quickly kill the franchise if this is what Microsoft has planned to do with the franchise...5 titles of the same franchise in a span of 4 years in unacceptable....Microsoft needs to expand and expand fast.

Actually, if you really look into it, the economy has little to know effect on gaming. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have all seen increased sales/profits even during the bad economy.
If anything, new consoles and games is great for the economy because it gets people spending money.
I honestly hope not. Microsoft needs to give all of their milked franchises a rest….They really need to by first party studios and expand their game library….they can’t rely on just Gears, Halo, Forza, Fable and pretending CoD is exclusive…. If they do they will very quickly get slaughtered next gen…..it has worked this gen because they were able to exploit the casual crowd through CoD and Kinect….It would work when the casual crowd moves to the next “what’s in” thing….

Nah. The 360 has 18-24 months left in this generation before the next box is launched. I highly doubt Microsoft would release a blu ray add on now.
Sure hope so. Game is definitely underrated. Sure it had it's problems, but it was still a decent game. I think with the extra horsepower the devs will be able to really make this game shine.
I look forward to seeing what Free Radical (Crytek UK) can do with it :)
