I dunno. That sounds like conspiracy to me.
Are Sony going to sell more PS4's because of this move? Unlikely. The type of people looking forward to The Last Guardian are more than likely PlayStation fans anyway.
The Last Guardian has gone way past needing to generate buzz and PR. In fact it's probably better to let it lay low for a while so they can work on it and surprise everyone at E3 2015 (some hope!)
The only reason to generat...
Your comment is interesting as it really sums up the changes in gamers attitudes.
Neither ICO or Colossus got hype or buzz before or even immediately after release. Those who played ICO and loved it looked forward to Colossus but expectations never got out of hand. We knew Team ICO was small, and ICO had it's faults so we expected something interesting from the team, but no one was going batshit crazy.
And yet, we are in a situation where a dev who hasn...
And yet again the amazing world of video game journalism puts 2 and 2 together and gets Derp!
As Molyneux said in his RPS interview, he has already backed away from the press a lot.
I suspect he will be extremely low-key for a while.
It's a shame that a combination of factors has lead to this. He'll always be one of the legends of the insustry, but ever since Lionhead was bought by MS it seems that he's been on a downward spiral in the eyes of the media and most of that is his own fault.
A big part of why they won't stop is because the media are giving them the attention they crave.
If journalists / websites wanted to help get rid of Lizard Squad they would mutually agree a black out on news to starve them of attention.
It's a well known technique that the media can employ and have done in the past on other topics.
The media could help make them irrelevant by not naming them.
Articles like this are...
Yeah, to each their own.
No doubt at some point in the future I'll have yet another attempt at the game to try and prove myself wrong about it! :)
I must admit to not having much interest in this game... But I really hope that it gets some good scores.
The amount of negativity aimed at The Order has been unprecedented.
It's as if this hobby we have, which boils down to having FUN, has been turned in to cesspool of negativity. Do people (some of which claim to be 'journalists') really want games to fail? It's disgusting that the need for clicks now outweighs any sort of journalistic inte...
Nope. Can't agree.
It's got some good concepts and ideas - but for me, it's the one Zelda game I have never been able to finish and don't really like.
Definitely not worth upgrading for right now.
It will be interesting to see how many games are New 3DS exclusive in the next year or so.
I think it's more likely we'll see games apprach the New 3DS like Monster Hunter 4 has - better textures and a few more effects, plus perform a bit better on New 3DS, but can still be used on Old 3DS.
That's the million dollar question... :)
The time between 3DS XL and New 3DS XL release was something like 4 years I think.
I don't think Nintendo will wait that long before introducing their next gen handheld. Maybe 2 years is my hugely speculative assumption.
Nintendo have often stated they have a '3 pillar' model for handhelds, so I don't expect the 3DS to disappear any time soon, and will certainly live on for a few y...
I think this Metro review is the most honest yet, and certainly seems more accurate than the 9/10 from IGN.
Even without the DLC debacle, they state the game lacks longevity that goes beyond maps, monsters, and hunters. The core of the game just doesn't look that much fun.
Day 1 DLC and Patches - welcome to the new generation.
The only 'Evolution' this game provides is to alienate customers even more with anti-consumer, money grabbing DLC
Except for the 9/10 IGN review I was reading on N4G about 2 minutes ago...
It's pretty clear the New 3DS is the last iteration of the 3DS before Nintendo move on to something new.
But it is a solid device and really what the original 3DS should have been.
Sure the pixel density is atrocious, but games still look good. The 3D improvements are not trivial - I have gone from never using 3D on my old 3DS to using it all the time on the New 3DS.
I have only watched people streaming this - but from what I've seen I cannot see how this game got a 9.
Something smells fishy here.
As I'm over 100 hours in to Destiny, I kinda know where jriquelme is coming from.
I wouldn't say I am disappointed, or think it was a bad purchase. It is just a little disappointing to see a game not reach it's obvious potential.
The controls are almost perfect. The graphics and art direction are cool. The setting is intriguing - but every time I play the game, and no matter how much fun I am having - I can't help but feel a little disappoin...
Well worth it at that price.
It's nice when a game comes out that has that certain something - an almost indescribable quality that just makes it Great to play.
Goddam. When I saw that the New 3DS has interchangeable faceplates I thought big deal. I'd never want to spend money on a lump of plastic... But I really like this Zelda faceplate!!
Ah, another jaded but realistic veteran of many driver and API promises I see :)
I too remember the buzz around DX10...
