And Sony's cat-n-mouse game with them never happened, did it?

Of course...selective memory FTL!

Geohot!

(trying to see if just mentioning his name proves just why this sort of kneejerking exists)

Would you approve if it was on Sony's side?

When Sony's lawyers make a statement, it's treated as gospel, with no possibility that they could be lying or trying to sell a story.

When Hotz' lawyers do the EXACT SAME THING, they are suddenly not as the "pillars of truth" they made Sony's out to be.

Notice that? Because I did!

Did you even read the story?:

- The manuals were still in their sealed packages.
- The TOS was changed after he made his account, which was not the same account as Sony is claiming he had.
- SNs do not match on the PS3 systems in question.

This plus the stuff Sony is accused of doing to sabotage the case in their own right equals some bad times indeed.

Helps to read the story before you comment!

So we're going to sabotage a guy's LIFE now because of a grudge!

And the scary thing about THIS is...you got 8 agrees for it.

My God, the people that exists on this site AMAZES me sometimes!

Well, it might not change the outcome, but it will stop Sony from getting the cheap win of making Hotz have to use money to fly everywhere (Note to whoever is thinking of bringing it up: PLEASE shut up about SA already...it's been done to death and we've explained it ten million times now).

If Sony is going to win this case, have them win by proving that they are right in the merits of their case, not because you were able to drain the other guy of so much of his fun...

Well, if all he's trying to do is to get Linux back onto the PS3, then I don't see why all the issue. I just think the PS3 fanboys didn't want ANYONE touching their temple. And this is coming from someone who likes that damn thing. They're upset that anyone took away their political talking point, and are wanting them to burn for it. I bet half of the people talking shit on Hotz and this guy could actually care less if it was hacked or not as long as the cheating element wasn&...

Only thing I would change is the Final Fantasy game. I thought FF6 was the better game in the SNES era. The way they did the Esper system, the story, the fact that you weren't forced to have a certain person in your party, and the amount of characters in the game (with each having a story that made them important to the main story in some way), and one of the more talked about antagonists in FF history (other than Septhiroth), made it a classic.

I get that FF4 introduced...

Look for THIS one to get a thousand degrees because of the usual people coming in and spouting off comments that would make even the biggest cyber bully proud.

And really, how many more articles about "OMG, Geohot took a vacation. Quick, get out your pitchforks and torches NOW!" are we going to have on this site?

They did kind of do that with their "either update and lost functionality or don't update and lose the ability to play future games" thing.

You probably should go back and read what they are saying.

EDIT@nycrekid: No, that's what Sony WANTS you to believe (which people here will usually take as absolute fact without any questioning). They said back when the function wasn't in the Slim that it was a cost-cutting measure. That'll be h...

What I have discovered after reading the comments here:

1. NO ONE here (except the select few) actually READS anything (said he had it paid since November). They just follow the leader, sounding like a broken record.

2. No matter how many times you tell them not to, they are going to say the same type of crap all the time, never respecting anyone's opinions, whine and bitch about that one disagree they got on their comment when they had a million disagree...

He planned it since November, and that does sound about right, given how much time it takes to plan something like that out (you don't just off and take an international trip without some planning). Hell, my one day bus trip to NYC in 08 took about 5 plus months of preparation (it was well worth it, though).

I don't think it's damage control. At least the people that were whining that he didn't turn in every little thing they wanted got what they wanted, so th...

Escape from WHAT? He was never told he couldn't go anywhere, and everyone is spinning the court papers to seem as though he was trying to get out of doing something. His lawyers acknowledged his South America vacation back in March (before he petitioned for the donations), so if the court had a problem with it, then they would've said something about it by now. This is a CIVIL case. He can go where he pleases. Sony isn't seeking criminal charges.

All this is is an...

For one, the going to SA part is something the courts never said he couldn't do, so unless an order is there to keep him in the country (which there isn't), there really isn't anything they CAN do to stop him from doing that.

With the "sabotaging" HDD's, keep in mind that you're basing all of this on what Sony's lawyers are putting in there, and they have spun things in this case in the past ( 5416d ago 1 agree8 disagreeView comment

You know, I just got a thought.

Perhaps he's trying to show Sony something.

For one, I heard that he didn't really make it any secret that he went to South America (he posted that in his blog, I read), so it's not like he's hiding THAT! The other stuff that Sony is saying in that document is only Sony's side of it (of COURSE it's going to make Sony into the victim and say anything it can to support's Sony's side of things becau...
