How were the other two companies any better this gen?

Nintendo ignored hardcore gamers this gen and only did a few good things for them this time around (Metroid Prime 3 and Other M).

Microsoft's only way to beat Sony was "me too" ware and making other consoles wait for games that were done because MS has to have it too while having nothing of their own outside of achievements to call their own.

Not saying Sony has been perfect ...

But it's YOUR copy of the game that YOU bought, so it should be YOUR right to do with it what YOU see fit.

If you want to resell the game to someone, then you should be able to without a problem. The company already got their share from that sale.

The problem is that we've given these people way too much power to restrict because they know that they can force people to buy overpriced products this way. Prices would never really drop, and games would h...

It's been happening for a few years now: some gamers have just become too whiny, too elitist, and too vocal for their own good. This has been happening to more mediums than gaming, but it seems that whenever a new installment of a franchise tries to change things up a bit (and I mean change ANYTHING about a formula), then you'll hear scores of people bitch and moan before the sodding thing even comes out, and sometimes, after the game does come out...more bitching. It's moreso on ...

Look up the ratio of NDS shovelware games to NDS games that are actually worth a damn to play. I think you got an answer to that argument.

There are a few issues to his argument, though.

If you look on Steam, a lot of indie devs are having their games selling. These are from smaller developers, as well, and they don't seem to have much issue getting people to buy the products through there. In fact, it continues to be one of Steam's biggest selling points. Though the approval process and the Greenlight thing can be criticized, thing is that this puts a bit of a dent in that argument. And look how games ...

Yeah, because it's WAY too hard to go into the options screen and select "turn off". We HAVE to go and wish that because you don't want it, everyone else should be denied the option. Makes much better sense to just deny everyone an option they might want because you don't want it.

I fail to see how an optional thing makes something bad when you don't have to even use it. If you were forced to use it, then that would be different. But you're not, ...

Looking at the list, I couldn't help but find that the list is all of game franchises that switched up things, and the site is being elitist about the franchises. They are all either "they changed it too much" or "they didn't change enough" or "they need to change it back". There's no real talk about control schemes or gameplay issues or anything like that.

Look at Mario, for example. They admit that the Galaxy games did well, but th...

So now we got Senators trying to barrage people with this shit in the hopes that no one on the other side can possibly combat the strength in numbers?

No wonder they got a piss poor approval rate. And to think that people ELECT these fucking jokes!

How about people actually read the story first instead of going on and on about who reported it. I don't like Kotaku, either, but even a broken clock is right twice in a day.

Not every single discussion has to turn into a fanboy argument. This is WHY we gamers aren't taken seriously in the media, and WHY we keep getting dick sauce for bills in the Senate. Can we actually discuss the story instead of who reported it?

I wouldn't have a problem with Fox being right leaning if they didn't try to hide it under the "fair and balanced" mantra or try to interject their opinions as news in their hard news portions. MSNBC is left leaning, but you don't see them really hiding that (why should they; it's what got them on the map finally) or report opinions as hard facts.

Fox is picked on because they try to advertise themselves as something they clearly are not, they inter...

You really think he'd get a fair debate:

- Fox (and their fanboys) has tried to say they are "fair and balanced" for years but evidence has proved otherwise.
- You have hosts that will do whatever it takes to make sure they don't get smacked down with facts they can't easily whisk away with a shouting match (even abruptly ending an interviews, as they have done before, too).
- This is a debate that has a political tie in (Republicans love...

1. Your comment was really easy to disagree with. Not hard to see that you didn't know what you were talking about.

2. Companies do use the "piracy" bug as an excuse to get away with things like this because of people like you who will blindly buy into it, even when piracy is clearly not the reason. They use piracy as a way to absolve themselves of any blame for doing this always on thing.

Cycle goes on over and over again, and no one ever catc...

They needed Shepard Smith telling them to "Get off it! Get off it! GET OFF IT!"

Not completely. They have extended the life of certain games that are actually good (would you even go play that higher difficulty setting if there wasn't a shiny for you upon completing it?). People enjoy going after them, and they aren't going to die anytime soon. We should just get used to them being there (and really, it's not always a bad thing to have them in there).

Their hearts are in the right place, though, GreenRanger. They are trying to give people something in return for giving money to a worthwhile cause (something that they will no doubt buy anyway).

What is it about people nowadays that they have to find the negative in every single thing and exaggerate that to no end. Stop being so cynical about everything and be happy that they are having their hearts in the right place.

Well, in Mika's defense, we DO know how retarded Microsoft loves to be about the multiplatform games they do end up getting, and how developers see major issues with the system specs anymore. Remember what happened with FF13? Tekken 6? Want to know why people fear of the Versus 13 rumors possibly being true?

Hell, we've went over this countless times now, but in the sea of N4G comment filth and people who can't find anything better to do with their lives than trol...
