The problem that Sarkeesian has is that she uses confirmation bias a LOT in the videos (as in, it's painfully obvious she's doing so), and then tries so hard to cover up that she goes into that weird catch-22 area where it's too hard to criticize her style without someone saying "well, she brought it up, so she gets a pass" or calling everyone concern trolls.
And that's the problem everyone of her supporters seem to have. They cannot see any criticis...
I don't think it'll be as troublesome as before because it seems like each system has about the same architecture around the board as opposed to what it was like with the PS3 and X360 where you had vastly different ways of how they did their job. Both systems will use Blu Ray, which is a definite plus to making that happen. So you might not see things cut or gimped for that reason. I didn't see as much concern over things this time. Well, you have to think about install rates right now. How many people will want to jump to the next gen right away, or will wait to see where the pendulum swings. Remember that GTA5 is not coming out on next gen consoles (at least there's no announcement about it coming out for the PS4 or XBO yet). So yeah, as long as people are not willing to go next gen yet, they'll be a market for the PS3 (and 360, for that matter, though I bet more for the PS3 than 360).
This is Nintendo shooting itself in the foot here, and it seems like they seem to be somewhat scared of disastrous results because of the WiiU's troubles. But since they own the IP, Insomniac has the final say, and if they want to maximize their profits from a game, then they will do that in any way possible. If the game becomes successful, then it's not like they will be like "well, this game is doing real well, we should take whatever MS throws at us and ignore any other platform for our product".
